the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.

[Mormon 1:86] And for this cause I write unto you, that ye may know that ye must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ; yea, every soul who belongs to the whole human family of Adam; [Mormon 1:87] And ye must stand to be judged of your works, whether they be good or evil; and also that ye may believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, which ye shall have among you;

And these things does the Spirit manifest unto

me; therefore I write unto you all.

And for this cause I write unto you, that ye

may know that ye must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ; yea, every soul who belongs to the whole human family of Adam;

And ye must stand to be judged of your works,

whether they be good or evil; and also that ye may believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, which ye shall have among you; [Mormon 1:85]

For the

Father judgeth no man; but hath committed all judgment unto the Son; [John 5:22]

And shall all be judged of the Son of Man. For as I

hear, I judge, and my judgment is just; [John 5:30]

…all men shall stand before him, to be judged, at the last and judgment day, according to their works. [Alma 16:197]

And he said unto me, Thou remembereth the twelve apostles

of the Lamb? Behold they are they who shall judge the twelve tribes of Israel:

Wherefore, the twelve ministers of thy seed shall be judged

of them; for ye are of the house of Israel; and these twelve ministers whom thou beholdest, shall judge thy seed. [1 Nephi 3:115-116]

And again, verily, verily I say unto you, and it hath gone forth

in a firm decree, by the will of the Father,

that mine apostles, the twelve which were with me in my ministry at Jerusalem, shall stand at my right hand, at the day of my coming, in a pillar of fire, being clothed with robes of righteousness, with crowns upon their heads, in glory even as I am, to judge the whole house of Israel, even as many as have loved me and kept my commandments, and none else; [Sec 28:3a-b]

Know ye not

that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? [1 Corinthians 6:2-3]

Do ye not

know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

These are they that are redeemed of the Lord; yea,

these are they that are taken out, that are delivered from that endless night of darkness; and thus they

stand or fall; for behold, they are their own judges,

whether to do good or do evil. [Alma 19:70]

and liars, and hypocrites shall be proved by them, and they who are not apostles and prophets shall be known. [Sec 64:7c-d]

Behold, I, the Lord, have made my church in

these last days, like unto a judge sitting on a hill, or in a high place, to judge the nations; for it shall come to pass, that the inhabitants of Zion shall judge all things pertaining to Zion;

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It

was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you; but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. [Acts 13:46]

…ten

thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the judgment was set, and the books were opened. [Daniel 7:10]

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my

words, hath one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. [John 12:48]

For out of the books which shall be written, I

will judge the world, every man according to his

works, according to that which is written.

and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [Revelation 20:12]

And I saw the

dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life;

the Lord who shall come down upon the world with a curse to judgment; yea, upon all the nations that forget God, and upon all the ungodly among you. [Sec 108:1a]

Hearken, O ye

people of my church, saith the Lord your God, and hear the word of the Lord concerning you; the Lord who shall suddenly come to his temple;

For the time is come

that judgment must begin at the house of God; and if it first

begin at us, what shall

the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

And if the righteous

scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

[1 Peter 4:18]

I, the Lord, am angry with the wicked; I am holding

my Spirit from the inhabitants of the earth.

I have sworn in my wrath

and decreed wars upon the face of the earth, and the wicked shall slay the wicked, and fear shall come upon every man, and the

Saints also shall hardly escape;

…nevertheless, I, the Lord, am with them, and will come down in heaven from the presence of my Father, and consume the wicked with unquenchable fire.

And, behold, this is not yet, but by and by;

wherefore seeing that I, the Lord, have decreed all these things upon the face of the earth,

I will that my saints should be assembled upon the land of Zion; [Sec 63:9c-d]

Be wise in the

days of your probation;

strip yourselves of all uncleanness; ask not, that ye may consume it on your lusts, but ask with a firmness unshaken, that ye will yield to no temptation, but that

ye will serve the true and living God.

[Mormon 4:94]

Wherefore, if ye have sought to do

wickedly in the days of your probation, then ye are found unclean before the judgment seat of God;

And no unclean thing

can dwell with God; wherefore ye must be cast off for ever. [1 Nephi 3:34-35]

All flesh is

not the same flesh; but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

Also Celestial bodies, and bodies Terrestrial, and

bodies Telestial; but the glory of the celestial, one; and the terrestrial, another; and the telestial, another. [1 Corinthians 15:39-40]

There is one glory of

the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead.

[1 Corinthians 15:41-42]

What is a “Glory”?

The Hebrew word for “glory” is Kabod; it basically

means weight. The Greek word is Doxa.

In science it would be the mass of an object of matter.

It is the substance of a person or thing. For God, it is who He is, His character and power.

We know that God is love, [1stJohn 4:16]; love is God’s character and power.

God’s glory manifests and reveals His love.

What is the meaning of the word “Glory"?

Funk & Wagnalls, New Standard Dictionary of the English Language, under "glory", gives the religious symbolic meaning as follows:

The complete representation of an emanation of light from the person of a sanctified being;

the quality of being radiant or shining; brilliancy brightness; luster; as the glory of the sun; Glory is the general term for the aureola and the nimbus"—aureola being the halo or ring round the sun, and nimbus being the sun-disc.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord

is risen upon thee. [Isaiah 60:1]

The sun shall be

no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee; but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. [Isaiah 60:19]

Thy sun shall no

more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself; for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended. [Isaiah 60:20]

And the city had

no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it; for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. [Revelation 21:23]

The light of the body is the eye; if

therefore thine eye be single to the

glory of God, thy whole body shall be full of light. [Matthew 6:22]

And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole

bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you, and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things. [Sec 85:18a]

The glory of God is intelligence, or, in

other words, light and truth;

and light and truth forsaketh that evil one. [Sec 90:6a]

The Hebrew word “Halal"

is used to describe glory and wisdom.

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he

understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth; for in these things I delight, saith the Lord. [Jeremiah 9:24]

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of

glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; [Ephesians 1:17]

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened;

that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,… [Ephesians 1:18]

For, behold, I am about to call upon them to

give heed to the light and glory of Zion, for the set time has come to favor her. [App 107A:1e]

Telestial Glory – The Glory of the stars

And again, we saw the glory of the telestial,

which glory is that of the lesser, even as the glory of the stars differs from that of the glory of the moon in the firmament; these are they who received not the gospel of Christ, neither the testimony of Jesus; [Sec 76:7a-b]

these are they who deny not the Holy Spirit; these are they who are thrust down to hell; these are they who shall not be redeemed from the Devil, until the last resurrection, until the Lord, even Christ the Lamb, shall have finished his work; [Sec 76:7c-e]


…these all are they who will not be gathered with the saints, to be caught up unto the church of the Firstborn, and received into the cloud; these are they who are liars, and sorcerers, and adulterers, and whoremongers, and whosoever loves and makes a lie; [Sec 76:7n]

But, behold, and lo, we saw the glory and the

inhabitants of the telestial world, that they were as innumerable as the stars in the firmament of heaven, or as the sand upon the seashore, and heard the voice of the Lord saying:

These all shall bow the knee, and every tongue

shall confess to him who sits upon the throne for ever and ever; [Sec 76:7t-u]


…for they shall be judged according to their works; and every man shall receive according to his own works, and his own dominion, in the mansions which are prepared, and they shall be servants of the Most

High, but where God and Christ dwell they cannot come, worlds without end.

And thus we saw

in the heavenly vision, the glory of the telestial which surpasses all understanding; and no man knows it except him to whom God has revealed it. [Sec 76:7g]

And again, we saw the terrestrial world, and,

behold, and lo; these are they who are of the terrestrial, whose glory differs from that of the church of the Firstborn, who have received the fullness of the Father, even as that of the moon differs from the sun of the firmament. [Sec 76:6a-b]


Behold, these are they who died without law;

and also they who are the spirits of men kept in prison, whom the Son visited, and preached the gospel unto them, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, who received not the testimony of Jesus in the flesh, but afterwards received it;

these are they who are honorable men of the earth, who were blinded by the craftiness of men: [Sec 76:6c-d]


…these are they who receive of his glory, but not of his fullness; these are they who receive of the presence of the Son, but not of the fullness of the Father; wherefore they are bodies terrestrial, and not bodies celestial, and differ in glory as the moon differs from the sun;… [Sec 76:6e-f]

…these are they who are not valiant in the testimony of Jesus; wherefore they obtained not the crown over the kingdom of our God. [Sec 76:6g]

from the dead is the redemption of the soul; and the redemption of the soul is through him who quickeneth all things, in whose bosom it is decreed, that

the poor and the meek of the earth shall inherit it.

Therefore, it must needs be sanctified from all

unrighteousness, that it may be prepared for the celestial glory; for after it hath filled the measure of its creation, it shall be crowned with glory, even with the presence of God the Father; [Sec 85:4c]

…that bodies who are of the celestial kingdom may possess it for ever and ever; for, for this intent was it made and created; and for this intent are they sanctified.

The resurrection of the just: …they are they into whose hands the Father has given all things: they are they who are priests and kings, who have received of his fullness, and of his glory, and are priests of the Most High after the order of Melchisedec, which was after the order of Enoch, which was after the order of the only begotten Son: [Sec 76:5f-g]


these are they who shall have part in the first resurrection; [Sec 76:5j-l]

…these shall dwell in the presence of God and his Christ for ever and ever:

these are they whom he shall bring with him, when he shall come in the clouds of heaven, to reign on the earth over his people;

these are they whose names are written in heaven, where God and Christ are the judge of all; [Sec 76:5o-p]



And now, verily I say unto you, I was in the

beginning with the Father, and am the Firstborn; and all those who are begotten through me, are partakers of the glory of the same, and are the Church of the Firstborn. [Sec 90:4a]

And the general assembly of the church of the

firstborn shall come down out of heaven, and possess the earth, and shall have place until the end come. And this is mine everlasting covenant, which I made with thy father Enoch. [Genesis 9:23]

Church of the Firstborn

Church of the Firstborn Wherefore I now send upon you another Comforter, even

upon you, my friends, that it may abide in your hearts, even the Holy Spirit of promise, which other Comforter is the same that I promised unto my disciples, as is recorded in the testimony of John.

This Comforter is the promise which I give unto you of eternal

life, even the glory of the celestial kingdom; which glory is that of the Church of the Firstborn, even of God, the holiest of all, through Jesus Christ, his Son;

He that ascended up on high, as also he descended below all

things, in that he comprehended all things, that he might be in all and through all things, the light of truth, which truth shineth. This is the light of Christ. [Sec 85:1c-2b]

beginning with the Father, and am the Firstborn; and all those who are begotten through me, are partakers of the glory of the same, and are the Church of the Firstborn. [Sec 90:4a]

For he who is not able to abide the law of a Celestial

Kingdom, can not abide a Celestial Glory; and he who can not abide the law of a Terrestrial Kingdom, can not abide a Terrestrial Glory; he who can not abide the law of a Telestial Kingdom, cannot abide a Telestial Glory: therefore, he is not meet for a kingdom of glory.

But behold, and fear, and tremble before

God; for ye ought to tremble: for the Lord redeemeth none such that rebel against him, and die in their sins;

Yea, even all those that have perished in their

sins ever since the world began, that have

willfully rebelled against God, that have

known the commandments of God, and would not keep them; these are they that have no part in the first resurrection. [Mosiah 8:61-62]

And this is the gospel, the glad tidings which the voice out of

the heavens bore record unto us, that he came into the world, even Jesus to be crucified for the world, and to bear the sins of the world, and to sanctify the world, and to cleanse it from all unrighteousness; [Sec 76:4g]

And it shall come to pass

that when the …trump shall sound, then shall they that never knew me come forth, and shall stand before me;

And then shall they know

that I am the Lord their God, that I am their Redeemer; but they would not be redeemed. [Mosiah 11:133-134]

And then will I confess unto them, that I never knew

them; and they shall depart into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.

Therefore I say unto you, that he that will not hear my

voice, the same shall ye not receive into my church, for him I will not receive at the last day:

…through him all might be saved, whom the Father had put into his power, and made by him; who glorifies the Father, and saves all the works of his hands, except those sons of perdition, who deny the Son after the Father has revealed him; [Sec 76:4h]

…wherefore he saves all except them; they shall go away into everlasting punishment, which is endless punishment, which is eternal punishment, to reign with the Devil and his angels in eternity, where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched, which is their torment, and the end thereof, neither the place thereof, nor their torment, no man knows; [Sec 76:4i]

…neither was it revealed, neither is, neither will be revealed unto man, except to them who are made partakers thereof: [Sec 76:4j]

…nevertheless, I, the Lord, show it by vision unto many; but straightway shut it up again; wherefore the end, the width, the height, the depth, and the misery thereof, they understand not, neither any man except them who are ordained unto this condemnation. [Sec 76:4k]

For he must reign, till

he hath put all enemies under his feet.

The last enemy, death,

shall be destroyed. [1 Corinthians 15:25-26]

I am Alpha and Omega, Christ the Lord; yea, even I

am He, the beginning and the end, the Redeemer of the world:

I having accomplished and finished the will of him

whose I am, even the Father, concerning me; having done this, that I might subdue all things unto myself;

retaining all power, even to the destroying of Satan and his works at the end of the world, and the last great day of judgment, which I shall pass upon the inhabitants thereof, judging every man according to his works, and the deeds which he has done. [Sec 18:1a-c]

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the

night, in the which the heavens shall shake, and the earth also shall tremble, and the mountains shall melt, and pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall be filled with fervent heat; the earth also shall be filled, and the corruptible works which are therein shall be burned up. [2 Peter 3:10]

For verily there shall be new heavens, and a new

earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

And there shall be no unclean thing; for the earth

becoming old, even as garment, having waxed in corruption, wherefore it vanisheth away, and the footstool remaineth sanctified, cleansed from all sin. [Luke 17:39-40]

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for

the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. [Revelation 21:1]

And there shall be a new heaven and a new

earth; and they shall be like unto the old, save the old have passed away, and all things have become new. [Ether 6:9]

For, behold, I

create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. [Isaiah 65:17]

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on

earth, as it is done in heaven. [Matthew 6:10-11]
