The area of El Prado was once before a meadow.
Has over 8600 paintings.
Some famous Artists in the museum are Goya, Bosch Tiziano, Tintoretto, El Greco, Velazquez.
To the right is one of Goya’s paintings, El Dos de Mayo.

El Prado is the biggest art gallery in the world!
Besides paintings they have sculptures, drawings, and coins.
El Prado comes from collections of Old Trinidad Museum and bequests.
In 1819, Fernando VII was in charge when the Royal Museum of Painting and Sculpture was created.
Then the king died and there were problems with inheritance so it then became Prado National Museum.

Also inside is a huge library but you must submit an application to use.
The picture is a hallway full of famous paintings.
In the museum there are also sculptures.
They are mostly from Italy between the 16th and 19th century.
Also a collection of classical pieces are done by the Greek.
