Council Bluffs was found on January 19th 1853. The real name was Kanesville, Iowa and then it was named Council Bluffs. It is decades older than Omaha, Ne. It is located on the east side of the Missouri River.

Donna Reed was born in Denison Iowa on January 27th ,1921. Donna Reed changed her name from Donna Belle Mullenger to Donna Reed. She won an award for being the best supporting actress. She died in 1986 from pancreatic cancer, thirteen days before her 65th birthday.

E IS FOR Effigy Mounds Effigy mounds is a raised pile of earth built in the shape of an animal or a human figure. People believe they were made for religious reasons. At least 4,000 mounds remain today. They mainly got lost because of plowing or farming. Some items were found in some Effigy mounds such as pottery, weapons , and tools.

Miller

Glen Miller was on March 1, 1904. His name was Alton Glen Miller. He dropped out of college. When he was on a plane to entertain US troops in France when his plane disappeared and his body was never found. He died around December 15,1944.

H IS FOR Herbert HooverHebert Hoover born on August 10,1874 in West Branch, IA. He was the first president born in Iowa. He was the 31st president and served in 1929to 1933. His nickname was Grand old man. He was the first engineer president. He dies October 20,1964 at the age of 90.

John Wayne was born in Winterset, Iowa. His real name was Marion Robert Morrison. When he was bodysurfing a injury cut his college career. John Wayne played the hero in many war films but never served in the military himself. He was married and divorced three times.

Keokuk earned his honor through acts of bravery. When Keokuk was very young he killed a Sioux warrior. When some people were on a hunting trip , Keokuk ordered his warriors to form a circle with their horses.

T IS FOR Tri Center

Tri Center has over 100 employees. There are 800 students from preschool to 12th grade. Tri Center is located between a corn field and a bean field. Tri Center is home of the Trojans and the lady Trojans. There were 3 people that did wrestling and did a good job . Loren Williams, Caleb White ,and Trevor Paulson. Trevor Paulson got 4th place. They finished in class 1A out of 87 other teams.

Bingham Young was born on June 1,1801. Bingham Young University was found by Bingham Young in 1875. He was president of a church for 30 years on December 27, 1847. He died August 29, 1877 in Salt Lake City. Bingham Young University was named after Bingham Young.

Blank Park Zoo was opened May 8,1966. There are about 104 different kinds of species. There are gardens and winded paths. They can have weddings, meetings, company picnics, and group outings.
