Support for Immaculate Conception School

Thanks is extended to the members of the parish for your very generous long time support of Immaculate Conception School. We want to share with you information that the State of Illinois now provides an incredible tax break to parishioners that financially support Immaculate Conception School. The Empower Illinois Tax Credit provides that for every dollar contributed for the benefit of I.C.S. through a State of Illinois scholarship granting organization, the donor’s Illinois income tax liability is decreased by 75 cents. The opportunity is available to anyone who is liable for Illinois income tax. For example, if the taxpayer incurs $500 in Illinois income tax liability in 2020, a gift of $500 directed to I.C.S. reduces the donor’s tax liability by $375. In 2019, I.C.S. received approximately $55,000 for partial and full tuition scholarships for students whose family met state established financial need. It is estimated that I.C.S. students could qualify for $100,000 of scholarship funds for the 2020-21 school year. Donating is a simple process. The first step is to obtain a letter ID by online request. There is a specific form. The only required information is your social security number and driver’s license number. The second step is to set up a My Tax Illinois Account using the letter ID. The third step is to apply for approval to make a contribution to a scholarship granting organization based on your State income tax liability. The contribution must then be made in 60 days. All of the information for donating is available on the Empower Illinois website.
