Obesity

Definition

• Having too much excess body fat• Ancient Egyptians considered obesity a

disease• It is both genetic and hereditary

Symptoms

• Some symptoms are breathlessness, sweating a lot, difficulty sleeping, and back pains

• Can also increase high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, breast cancer, etc.

Signs

• You will know that you are obese if your body mass index(BMI) is 30 or over.

• If you have a high waist to hip ratio.• You should be concerned right when you see

that your BMI is over 30.

Treatment

• You should set a plan for the amount of calories you will eat every day

• Exercise at least one hour every day

Treatment cont.

• A short-term cure is balance your diet and exercise

• A long-term cure is having different kinds of surgery`s

Impact on the Family/Individual

• The family and individual might have to go to support systems

• The person might get made fun of at school
