The Bluegrass Stakes Sale, hosted annually during the national Hereford show in Louisville, again offered a strong set of show heifers and brood cow prospects on Nov. 19. When the final heifer left the ring, the 12 heifers had gathered $37,550 to average $3,129.

Topping the sale offering was a March 2, 2008, heifer by CH Enuff Prophet 2913, consigned by Pierce’s Hereford Haven, Baraboo, Wis. White Willow Polled Herefords, Morris, Ill., laid claim to this heifer at $6,000.

At $5,700 was a strong Feb. 25, 2008, heifer sired by GH Rambo 279R. Miller Herefords, Thorntown, Ind., consigned this heifer that went to Four L Herefords, Atwood, Tenn. This heifer will see the showring in the future.

A Remitall Online 122L heifer born April 5, 2008, was claimed by River Circle Farm, Hartsville, Tenn. This strong brood cow prospect hit the bid of $3,850 for the Laudeman Family Farm, Bremen, Ind.

Purple Reign Cattle Co., Toulon, Ill., always brings a good one to Louisville, and this year their consignment featured a BR Moler ET heifer calved March 16, 2008. Red Ridge Cattle Co., Bridgeville, Del., recognized an excellent show heifer and claimed her on a bid of $3,600.

The Adcock Family, Assumption, Ill., always show the good ones, and they probably made the buy of the sale at $3,200. A DR World Class 517 10H heifer, born April 4, 2008, will fit nicely in their show barn. This heifer with great numbers was consigned by Rustic Oaks Farm, Ohio, Ill.

Dale Stith, Harvest, Ala., was the auctioneer, and John Meents served as the sale coordinator.
