Love Changes everything…

k

As individuals, what do we have

to offer a third world country like

Uganda? The hope of helping any

third world country in the midst of

our own current economical strug-

gles seems dim, but if we give some

of what we do have, the impossible

becomes possible. We can make an

impact in Uganda where war and

diseases like AIDS and Malaria

have taken the lives of so many,

leaving a multitude of children

orphaned and abandoned. It is pos-

sible to bring hope… but how?

k

Can we fix the broken pLaCes in the Lives of these preCious ChiLdren, together? At Buyamba Uganda we believe we can start, with God’s help, to mend the broken hearted. Caring for the widow and the orphaned is part of the Father’s heart. This is why our schools are called “God Cares Schools.” It is a simple principle really, we all learned it in kindergarten...we need to share. If we all give what is in our hands to give, we make an impact together. In shar-ing, we show love, and LOVE changes everything!

“Let us love one another, for love is of God…”

buyamba uganda… our mission

Buyamba Uganda is a non-profit, 501(c)3 founded in the United States to support Buyamba Or-phan Outreach and God Cares Schools in Kampala, Uganda. The ministry in Uganda was founded by Pastor Bethuel and Florence Dongo, who continue to oversee every aspect of the ministry. We provide love, care and support to orphaned and dis-advantaged children in Uganda through our sponsorship pro-gram and the faithful donations of Buyamba Uganda supporters.

We exist to lovingly care for the physical, spiritual, emotional and educational needs of these children, while empowering them to become contributing citizens who will impact their nation for Christ.

Currently, Buyamba financially supports the education and care of over 1,100 children through our sponsorship programs. God Cares Nursery/Primary School and High School provide a solid Christian education and is home to over 350 students who room and board at the school because of family needs.

This is our commitment to Uganda’s precious children… to offer them love, hope and a future through education…one child at a time.

BUILDING PROJECTS God Cares High School is almost finished! Thanks to the generos-ity of churches and individuals, our combined efforts have effec-tively constructed FOUR floors at GCHS and the fifth floor will be completed soon! We’re happy to announce the roof tiles are piled and ready to be laid, thus fulfilling our dream to see God Cares High School completed. With a finished high school building, our vision of accommo-dating 2,000 orphaned and needy Ugandan children will become a reality. Buyamba supporters have built this brick by brick, and now, many are asking, “Where do we go from here?”

the sChooL dormitories

Those of you who have been involved in our ministry for any length of time, or have visited both of the God Cares Schools in Uganda, know there are hun-dreds of children who actually room and board at the school...literally, in the school building.

Although this has provided a very safe environment for those who need to board at the school, the Ugandan government now requires student dormitories to be separate from the build-ing where classes are held. This law came after a series of school burnings throughout Uganda in which children were trapped inside the school.

In order for us to continue housing students, we must build dormitories, one for the girls and one for the boys. This is both a challenge of space and cost, espe-cially at the God Cares Primary School. We must persevere in our efforts to start the building process.

Estimated cost of each dormitory building: $500,000

the high sChooL assembLy haLL

An assembly hall, required by the Ugandan government for high schools, is our next pressing building campaign. The assembly hall must be able to house the entire school population for joint assemblies, chapels, and manda-tory testing per Ugandan law. Unfortunately, these require-ments are not paired with gov-ernment funds to carry out this requisite. Estimated Cost for the High School Assembly hall: $350,000

ChiLd sponsorship

When you sponsor a child, you begin building and changing a future with someone special, someone who needs your help to rise above their circumstances and to thrive in a life changing environment of education and discipleship. No one can advance economically without an educa-tion in Uganda. For only $35 a month, you can make a differ-ence in a child’s life today. Your pledge to a specific child will cover all of their basic needs, which includes: tuition, nutrition, uniform, books and supplies. In other cases, you might be cover-ing a child’s room and board, also $35 a month, through our resi-dential sponsorship program. As a sponsor you will have the opportunity to form and experi-ence a life changing relationship. You are invited to write letters or emails of encouragement, as well as send pictures of your family and receive pictures of your child as they grow. Many sponsors en-joy sending a special gift or family photo for their child throughout the year. In fact, some sponsors have even traveled to Uganda to meet their child! Whatever the level of involvement, sponsoring a child provides the education and discipleship needed for that child to transition into a productive citizen...simply because someone cared enough to give.

Educational or Residential Sponsorship for a Child: $35 per month

Love gifts

A love gift goes a long way. It picks up those broken pieces of hope and sheds light in the dark places. Our love gift program gives us the opportunity to give a gift that will change a life. Some donors have chosen to provide farm animals to provide contin-ual nourishment, such as the gift of a cow or a goat, while others have had the pleasure of plant-ing banana trees and other fruits and vegetables at the God Cares Farm. The farm provides crops that will help feed our growing student population of over 1,100 students at God Cares. Other love gift ideas include sending a child to bible camp, or giving a student their very own bible. The children always have needs for desks and bunk beds also. Feeding and housing more than a thousand orphaned and needy children 24/7 is an ongoing chal-lenge that succeeds through the partnership of Buyamba Sup-porters.

Love Gift Costs: • Cow $1000• Goat $100• Chickens $7 each• Bible Camp $35 a child• Bible $10• Desks or Bunk Bed $100 each

short term mission trips

Buyamba Uganda welcomes all teams who are interested in serving on a short-term ministry visit to God Cares Primary and Secondary Schools. Join us in serving the orphans and needy children at God Cares in Kam-pala, Uganda.

Pastors Bethuel and Florence Dongo look forward to hosting any team that wants to travel to Uganda. They appreciate your generous help and labor of love that is involved in traveling such a great distance. Travel to Africa does require much preparation. We offer full support in answer-ing the myriads of questions that teams have when considering a mission to Uganda; from ques-tions on travel information and immunizations to food and lodg-ing and many other pertinent bits of information.

Buyamba currently offers its donor access to these trips twice a year, one in July and one in February through an applica-tion process. Visiting Uganda and experiencing the beautiful children of God Cares School is a life changing experience. Please contact the office today for more details.
