Ranking in Doing Business: 2014 – 62; 2013 – 92

Russia - is the sixth largest economy in the world from the point of view of GDP volume (2,6 trillion USD based on PPS)

From the point of view of GDP per capita Russia is the 16th in the world (24,3 thousand USD)

Public debt is the lowest compared to GDP among the BRICS countries and USA in 2013 (Russia - 11,3%; USA - 104,7%; China - 22,4%; Brazil - 66,3%; India - 66,7%)

National gold reserves - Russia holds the fifth place in the world with 510 bln. USD. (China - 3 879 bln. USD; Japan - 1267 bln. USD; Saudi Arabia - 726 bln. USD; Switzerland - 536 bln. USD)

Russia is the seventh largest market (145,6 mln. people)

Russian Economy Today

Average monthly salary in Russia in 2013 is 937 USD (15 times growth from the year 1999)

Industrial production is growing (+1,5%)

Nice crop harvest (102-104 mln. t., annual growth of 10-13%)

Foreign trade turnover in 2013 is 842 bln. USD (with EU- 49%; CIS - 14%; APEC - 25%: China - 11%, Japan - 4%, USA - 3%, India - 1,2%)

The capital outflow has reduced (23,7 bln. USD in the II semester and 13 bln. USD in the III semester compared with 48,6 bln. USD in the I semester)

In 2014 the GDP growth of 0,5% is foreseen

We are satisfied to observe positive dynamics in all areas of our trade & economic cooperation: trade in goods and services, investments, industrial and scientific cooperation

During the eight months of 2014 the turnover between Russia and Belgium has increased by 15,3 to reach 8,8 bln. USD. Belgium is the 17th most important trade partner for Russia

The volume of trade in services grows steadily and has reached 1,2 bln. USD in 2013

The amount of Belgian investment accumulated in Russia – 3,9 bln. USD

The amount of Russian investment accumulated in Belgium – 232,7 mio. USD
