Role of the Business Local serviceTo facilitate business development and growth within local communities.
When does the Business Local logo need to be used?Your current funding agreement with the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) includes an obligation to give preference to the Business Local logo and to acknowledge the financial support provided by the State Government. The Business Local logo must appear on all on and offline (hard copy) promotional materials associated with the funded service including, but not limited to:• websites• promotional flyers and brochures• advertisements• banners• signage
Materials that include the Business Local logo must be forwarded to the SBDC for approval before publication. The logo must only be used in relation to the delivery of the actual Business Local service, not for the overall promotion of your organisation. Use of the logo must comply with this style guide. In addition, the SBDC’s support of the service must also be acknowledged in all public statements and media releases.
Business Local and Business Local WA are both registered business names and cannot be altered or added to in any way.
These guidelines are mandatory for all Business Local service providers. For further clarification please contact the Communications and Marketing unit at the SBDC.

The logoWherever possible the Business Local logo must be presented in colour, preferably in the positive version. On darker areas use the reversed out version. In exceptional circumstances you may use a mono version of the logo.

How should the logo be used?
Single branding In some instances marketing and communications materials will need to be produced which feature only the Business Local logo. In this situation all general guidance around the use of the logo still applies, however the logo should appear in either the top left or bottom right hand corner of the publication (or other item). All items produced with single branding must be forwarded for approval to the SBDC Communications and Marketing Unit.

Co-branding with a providerIn most instances the Business Local logo will be used on materials which are co-branded with the provider’s logo.
It is important that the complete version of the Business Local logo is used ie. with the wording “A Small Business Development Corporation service funded by the Government of Western Australia” included.
In relation to the provider’s website, the logo should be placed in the bottom right of the homepage and any pages that refer directly to the Business Local service. Wherever possible the logo should be hyperlinked to the Business Local page on the SBDC website (smallbusiness.wa.gov.au).
For all physical publications, advertisements and signage the logo should be placed in the bottom right of the front page. It only needs to be used once in each instance – for example, it should be on the cover of a brochure, but does not need to be on any other pages. In all instances its placement should have priority over general sponsors or supporters.
The Business Local logo should not be used as part of a provider’s general email footer. It should only be used when the email refers directly to the provision of Business Local services.
