This accessible new series of professional books tackles the business impacts of technology for the emerging digital economy. Aimed at non-technical, mid-senior executives and business managers, this series will help inform choices and guide decision-making on all major technological trends and their implications for business. Subjects covered will include: big data, open innovation, mobile technology, cloud computing, cyber security and business architecture.

ALAN W. BROWN has worked in key technology strategy roles across the world in leading tech startups, enterprise ventures, and multi-national corporations guiding them on innovation and product strategy. Alan’s work in Europe and the United States has included Chief Technology Officer for IBM Rational in Europe and as a senior technologist at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. Alan is Associate Dean for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Surrey Business School (SBS) at the University of Surrey, and has published widely on technology innovation including five books and more than 70 papers.

MARK THOMPSON has 22 years of information systems and change management consultancy experience, and is currently Strategy Director of Methods Group, specialists in digitally-enabled public services. Mark is credited as one of the pioneers of the adoption of open standards by the UK government, is a regularly invited industry and government speaker and chair, and is delivering radical digital transformation in many organizations. He is also University Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
