Computer Technology Department?

Does not have a

separate “Computer

Technology Department”

All technology classes

are part of the

Business Department

There is not a “computer technology coordinator” in charge of the networkManage hardware and software through Cisco

Have gone 1-1 with Computers, security features are previously installed, have limited access to websites

Concordia

Also does not have a

separate “Computer

Technology

Department”

Same as Concordia, All technology classes are part of the Business Department

Also does not have a “computer technology coordinator” but have a support coordinator that is responsible for setting up and maintaining hardware/software

Each student is assigned a computer in class, computers have a security filter and limit access to websites

Rules and/or Policies

Concordia Students and teachers follow District rules for

computer usage Before accessing the Internet students must sign

a usage Agreement Right now students have unlimited access to

sites but will be implementing a filtering system soon…How soon?

Clifton-Clyde Basic rules apply for computer usage Have a filtering system that allows students to

only access specific sites

Course Listings

Each school has a complete listing of courses taught at their school

Page 10: Business Department Survey

VE-2 Vocational funded program

Concordia Most classes receive funding while some do

not Those classes that are funded:

Entrepreneur Accounting Advanced Computer Applications

Those classes that are not funded: Personal Finance

Page 11: Business Department Survey

Process to receive Funding

1. Outline coursework and competencies2. Build pathways for students (what courses are

best suited for each student)3. As students complete courses, must provide

records indicating completeness Students don’t necessarily have to be marked as a

“completer” but must be enrolled in the course

Overall the process is “confusing and paper oriented”- Gieber

Page 12: Business Department Survey

VE-2 Vocational funding program

Clifton-Clyde EVERY class is vocationally funded

To name off a few: Accounting Computer Applications I Computer Applications II

Page 13: Business Department Survey

Process to receive Funding

1. Must have teacher certification2. Must outline and address each State and

National standard3. Equipment must be up-to-date (speed, memory,

etc.)4. Keep profile of all students and show projects,

assignments, etc.5. Have an advisory committee (meets twice: once

in the Fall and once in the Spring)6. Need to have an Annual Improvement Plan for 3

years (put together by Advisory Board)
