PRINCIPAL’S REPORT: It was very exciting to hear that Manly Vale Public School has provisionally been given funding in the State budget to provide new facilities for our expand-ing school. We do not as yet know when the building works will begin and what is to happen to the site dur-ing the build. School Council will meet after the holi-days to discuss the next step forward and there will be regular updates as to what is happening. A brand new school with 21st century classrooms and technology is something for the students of Manly Vale to look for-ward to in the near future. Trivia Night Last Saturday night 220 parents and teachers congre-gated in the Mackellar Campus hall for a fantastic night of fun! The theme “Spicks and Specks” brought out some amazing costumes and Kim Graham did an amazing job hosting the night. $15,000 was raised on the night and everyone enjoyed the quiz, the Band and the community spirit whilst raising funds for the school. Thank you to Lee Meredith and the fundrais-
ing team, and to the Year 2 parents of 2M, 2OG and 2/3Y who put together the night. Congratulations to Sarah Hills who will be “Principal for a Day” and to Cleo and Mali Lovell who will be inviting their friends to a picnic in the bush with the principal next term. School Dance Concert Next Monday will be the final dress rehearsal for the school dance concert. Students will be transported to and from Balgowlah Boys hall for their final rehearsal, all costs have already been covered in the
dance fees this year. The concert will be on Tues-day 24 June at 10.00am in the school hall of Balgowlah Boys. A donation for entry is all that is required. Glen Street Concert Last Monday night I had the privilege of watching our Boy’s Hip Hop group perform “I Believe” and the Senior Girl’s Ensemble perform to “Magalenha”. Both groups did an amazing job on the night receiv-ing loud applause and recognition for their perfor-mances. Ms Natalie Panetta choreographed both dances and was ably assisted by Mrs Lauren Fin-layson. Well done everyone who was involved and the parents who have helped out with transport, make up and “wild hair styles!” SRC meeting this Friday This Friday in the school hall we will be discussing suggestions from classes KK, 1K, 2OG and 6D in the SRC meeting. The meeting begins after recess at 11.30am. Parents are welcome to watch this stu-dent run meeting but like teachers, are unable to contribute to the meeting. Leadership Camp Our school leaders attended a Leadership camp this week, working with other school leaders from local schools. They participated in team work exercises including raft building and camp cooking and thor-oughly enjoyed the 2 days away from regular rou-tines. Thank you Mr Dylan and Ms Phillips who helped supervise sessions at the camp. Northern Beaches Band Festival Tonight our junior and senior bands will perform at the Northern beaches band festival at Pittwater High school. The junior band begins at 4.30pm and the senior band at 7.30pm. Good luck to all our musi-cians for tonight. Thank you to Ben and Misa our

Manly Vale Public School Spicks & Specks Trivia Night Thank you
We raised approximately $15,000!! (and had a great time too)
What a wonderful night was had by all on Saturday night. Over 220 people attended our annual trivia night and enjoyed an evening of music trivia, money raising and laughs. We were even treated to some fantastic spontaneous performances by some very talented parents as well as our own Mrs Lee in an auctioned singing round which raised almost $1000. Thank you to those who made the night possible, in particular to the P&C fundraising commit-tee, especially Peta Morris for the decorations and Tracy Wolf and Jacquelynn Watson, for sourcing so many wonderful prizes and doing countless administrative jobs to make the even-ing happen. A special thank you to the class parents from 1AM, 2OG, 2M and 2/3Y for all the organisation, liaising and assisting you have done for tonight. There are so many people who have helped enormously. Thanks especially to Lisa Stevens, Deb McCarthy and Zana Hanna for all your hard work. Thank you to Tina Lee and the MVPS staff for their support and assistance with this event. A huge thank you to our wonderful MC for the night Kim Graham, for all her work before and on the night, you made it a spectacular event. To our Auctioneer Lucas Cannon for donating his time in helping you spend your money, to our fantastic live band with our own Dan Putelli, and to our scorers Kyrralyn and Noel for giving up the chance to play the game to do all the scoring on the night. To the countless volunteers who came to help us set up al the fantastic decorations and to pack up afterwards (especially Phillip Daffy for going to the tip for us) and to all of our wonderful sponsors and prize donations. Without your support the night would not be possible!! There is a list of all attached to the Bush Telegraph this week. Apologies if I have missed anyone, it’s a long list and there are bound to be omissions but thank you all! We would like to acknowledge Deanna Rhule and Annandale Public School for their contribu-tion to the theme and questions/games for tonight. And most of all thank you all for coming and supporting our fantastic school. We hope you had a wonderful time. Thanks all Lee Meredith MVPS Fundraising Coordinator
