Mini Elevator Pitch

We are developing a mobile app to help public transport users (mainly bus

users) to help catch their transport on time and to track the transport with the ability to buy bus tickets and find the fastest way to get to a destination.

Who, When, Why, How and Where?

Who Our app is aimed at people of all ages but we think thatit would be the most ideal for teenagers and the elderly.

When and WhyOur app would be extremely useful for teenagers whenthey are getting the bus to and from school. Also, itcould be ideal for when teenagers go out with theirfriends.

HowPeople would be able to download the app and use itonce it has downloaded. The user would select the busthat they would like to use and the app would show theroute and times for the selected bus.

WhereYou could use the app over your data or Wi-Fi. If youhave limited data, you can check the times at homebefore you go out.

Our problem is too many people are missing

busses so we hope that we can solve that

by making a bus tracker so people know

what time the buses are coming in and

when they should catch them. Another

problem is making sure people aren't

waiting too long at a bus stop if the bus isn't

coming, this app will tell you if the bus is

delayed and what time it will arrive at the

bus stop.

What is the problem?

User Profiles

I have found out that the age group that will download this app will be teenagers because they don’t own a car and usually travel by public transport to school and to the shops. The gender that will

use the app will mainly be female according to our research.

Also, users would like to find the position of their bus and see when they will arrive and also show traffic, diversions and where the busiest roads will be. Users will want to get the fastest route

to destinations and to not miss their bus as they will get annoyed if they miss their appointment or meeting.

Questions

How can you avoid missing your bus?

To avoid missing you bus, the app would warn you if the bus is going to

be early or late.

How can I get to my destination in the

fastest time?

To get to the destination in the fastest time, we will use journey planners which are based on traffic and walking times if you use public transport.

Key Insight Statements

County Colour Changes -With GPS, when you enter anew county, the colour schemewill change depending on thecolours of the county’s emblem. For Example, if you enterLancashire, the colour schemewill be red and yellow.

On the Go - You can searchand track buses not just in thehouse and out and about.

Competitors

Our proposed solution is like no othertransport tracker app. All busses willbe fit with a GPS device that feedsback to the HQ where the informationwill be processed into a easy-accessapp that will tell you where your busis and the approximate arrival timealong with other features.

Technical Feasibility

We think the app would be very possible

to create. It will run according to the

Internet where it will retrieve information

on most of buses’ timetables. Also, it will

track the whereabouts of a bus using GPS

which is already in use today in Sat Navs

and also on the website

http://coachtracker.nationalexpress.com.

However, we have decided to refer to the

bus company’s website when they want to

buy tickets in case credit card details are

stolen via the app.

Business Model

Our Business Model is that some users pay. Some

users could pay extra to use the ‘flight’ option where

you can track real-time flights and see when they land

and depart at airports. Also, users could pay extra if

you want to expand the usage to different countries (for

example, EU Countries £1 extra, USA £2 extra, British

Commonwealth Countries (eg. Australia) £3 extra and

other countries £5 extra. We use this because not all

users would want to pay and not all users will use these

features. Also, users don’t like advertisements popping

up every time you click a button so if they pop up, they

are less likely to use the app.

We got around 20 customer pledges and some would

like to pay if they could use it abroad as well.

Our

Page 15: Bus Time Tracker (Bee App)

Our app is targeted at all ages that enjoy using public transport from as young as 10 to as old

as 100 and is a simple way to track buses to see if they are delayed or on time, limiting the

amount of time spent at the bus stops. This app could be used for most public transports (Tube, Tram, Train, Bus and Coach) whilst you

can pay extra for planes or if you want to use it abroad.
