Week 4 Term 3 Tuesday 9 August 2016
We had a fantastic day on Friday at our Mini
Olympics Day. Thanks to the P&C for your quick
organisation, Lorraine and her band of helpers did
an amazing job and it was lovely to have all our
kids participating in a safe, respectful way. Big
ones helping little ones. So many people gave their
time to help, our thanks to the staff at Apollo
House, Care West, Mission Australia, the
development officers from Rugby Union Australia
and our parents. Great to have you there.
Education Week
Thanks for helping us celebrate Education
Week, it was wonderful to see so many
people at our Eisteddfod performances and
joining us in the open classrooms. We all certainly
had a great time at the disco where we were joined
by students who were in camp from Dubbo School
of Distance Education.
Class Captains
Congratulations to our fabulous class
captains for term three, we know you’ll
do a great job.
Tyson Power, Jayani Maharaj, Ashanti Hill, Chloe
Lacrosse, Katey Parsons, Brinc Hill, Dudley
Wood, Frances Manzano, Keira Whelan, Toby
Pickering, Samira Ryan, Jeffrey Jones.
The Australian Ballet Visit
The Australian Ballet ran a series of
workshops in the hall today for our
students who participated in dance at the
eisteddfod. It is always great to reward those
students who participate in extra activities. Now
the experts will show you their style and mentor
you for next year.
Demountable Update
We have two demountables just about ready for the
Support Classes. The rain has slowed down the
process of installation but they do look amazing.
The demountables are very large with great
facilities inside including, their own complete
reverse cycle air conditioning, bathroom and
laundry. New technologies will be installed as soon
as possible and all should be up and running in the
next fortnight. The canteen building will arrive on
Wednesday morning, we then just need to ensure a
fit out. Unfortunately it is still too wet and
therefore too dangerous, to bring in the last two
demountables for the back area, but they should
arrive soon.
Fathers Day Stall
We will be holding our annual Fathers Day
Stall on Thursday 1 September. More
details to come.
PSSA District Carnival
Permission notes will go home today for the PSSA
District Carnival which is on Monday 15 August at
DCL Park, (formerly called Barden Park).
Competitors will need to make their own way to
and from the carnival and must wear full school
sports uniform. Competitors also need to be at the
park at 8.30am to have their name marked off by
Mrs Lyons. The day should conclude by 2.30pm.
There will be a canteen available on the day.
