Text Deconstruction: Fill in the blanks with the appropriate headings below.
Physical Bullying
Bullying is a mean behavior towards someone else. The one who does the bad
action is called the bully whereas the victim is the one who is hurt. There are
different forms of bullying, for example, physical, verbal and cyber bullying.
The following example is about physical bullying, which is when someone hurts
somebody else’s body.
Amy’s classmates did not like her as she is teachers’ favourite student. One day,
Amy went to the toilet during recess. A group of girls followed her there.
When Amy was in the toilet, they hit and kicked her. They knocked her down.
They stuck out their tongues and made fun of her. They beat Amy again and again
just for fun. She was afraid and felt isolated because no one stood up for her.
She did not know what to do.
Using WISE can help Amy deal with bullying. In this example, she can neither
walk away from the bullies nor ignore them. Amy could try to talk it out with
the bullies and ask them to stop. If this does not work, she should seek help
from an adult.
Bullying is wrong because it upsets people. We should be kind to others.
