PARISH NEWS March 18-19, 2017

The Holy Family Knights of Columbus would like to thank all of those who attended the Gala and also all of our sponsors and parishioners who so graciously made donations to our silent auction. We would also like to thank those who gave their support with cash donations to help offset our operating costs. It was one of the most fun Gala’s we have had and a great way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Gala! With all your support we were able to raise $7500 for the various charities our Knights Council supports throughout Regina.

Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council 10797

______________

With a little effort on Our part We can make a Big Difference

 Dear Parishioners of Holy Family,

Many of us may have lost heart due to the many failed efforts made in the past to encourage our

provincial and federal governments to enact laws that will protect our most vulnerable in society

including the child in a mother’s womb.  Some of us may have even said, “What’s the use, our

governments have their own agendas and will do only that which benefits them and keeps them in

power”.

We have before us a rare opportunity – an infrequent chance – through a small effort on our part ‐ to

start building a government that respects the dignity of human life in all its stages.

A new organization by the name of RightNow has come up with a strategy that has been proven to work

in other similar situations in recent times.  As you may already know, the Conservative Party of Canada is

in the process of selecting a new leader.  Of the fourteen candidates running, three stand out for their

strong belief in the sanctity, dignity and value of all human life.  (For a complete list of candidates,

please go to: http://www.itstartsrightnow.ca/cpc_leadership)  The strategy is simple:  1) Attain

membership in the Conservative party (regardless of your political affiliation) (only $15) and then

2) Vote for up to 10 of the 14 candidates in chronical order from most likely pro‐life candidate to the

least.  (More on this in a memo from a local member of the RightNow organization – see reverse side).

For more info: www.itstartsrightnow.ca or Kaz at (306) 543‐6049 or E‐mail: [email protected].

I look forward to hearing from you,

Kaz Herod – Interim Pro‐Life Director

Holy Family Council 10797

P.S. Both the Knights of Columbus and our Church are non‐partisan.  We are not promoting any

particular party or affiliation with a political party.  We are simply making you aware of a new and rare

opportunity in which you can actively participate in the selection of a leader who shares our convictions

about the value and dignity of human life from conception to a natural death – a leader that will take

and make these beliefs foremost in all of our governing policies and laws.
