Weekend of September 27 - 28, 2014 Maternity Clothes & Receiving Blankets Needed Birthline, a ministry of the Pro-Life and Family Life Office in the Archdiocese, provides baby layettes and supplies for low-income families. In the past year, we have assisted almost 1100 mothers, many having more than one baby. Our supply of maternity clothes is dwindling quickly. The greatest needs are L, XL, 2XL, and 3XL (no smaller sizes). These donations are most appreciated as we continue to assist the families who come to Birthline. With the colder weather quickly approaching we are also in need of receiving blankets to give to the new mothers. For more information please, contact Jená Hartman at (317) 236-1433 or [email protected]. Eagle Scout Project to Help Pregnant Women

Pregnancy can be a wonderful time full of love and excitement. However, for a pregnant woman in need, pregnancy can be a difficult and stressful time. These mothers can greatly benefit by receiving material and spiritual support during and after their pregnancies. By giving pregnant women in need high-quality rosaries, it will show each mother her value as a person and let her know that other people love and care for her. Hi, my name is Michael Isakson, and I am a Boy Scout in Troop 514 at St. Monica Parish in Indianapolis. My Eagle Scout Project is to collect 1500 new or gently-used rosaries for pregnant women in need who receive services from Birthline, a ministry in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. I am also collecting monetary donations to purchase prayer cards and rosary cases.

If you would like to help support these women, please send rosaries or donations to me at Michael Isakson, 8444 Flatwood Court, Indianapolis IN, 46278. Checks should be made payable to Boy Scout Troop 514. For more information, please contact me at [email protected] or (317) 295-8065. Thank you and God bless you! Visit http://www.archindy.org/plfl/ministries-birthline.html to learn more about the services of Birthline. So encourage your Priest(s) and Religious Sisters to experience a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend.

Decision Making in Healthcare

Sponsored by:

Office of Pro-Life and Family Life Health Ministry

In cooperation with St. Vincent Hospice

Archbishop O’Meara Catholic Center Assembly Hall

1400 North Meridian Street Indianapolis, IN 46202

October 17, 2014 9:00am - 4:00pm

Registration begins at 8:30am

$30.00 - Lunch Included

(Photo attribution: http://www.forestwander.com/)

Conference Overview

Being sick means being vulnerable. This vulnerability makes complex medical care decisions even more difficult. In addition, understanding and navigating the healthcare system can be very chal-lenging.

This conference will help caregivers and potential caregivers understand many of the factors that influence medical decision making to help them clarify “Who Decides?”.

Conference Theme

You Will Lead Me By The Right Road

The theme is taken from a prayer of Fr. Thomas Merton:

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am go-ing. I do not see the road ahead of me. I can-not know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.

Our Lady of Fatima Retreat House 5353 East 56th Street

Indianapolis, IN 46226

The Office of Pro-Life and Family Life and Our Lady of Fatima Retreat

House are pleased to offer an evening for those working through

infertility to come together with others who are or have been in this

same struggle. Infertility is a difficult journey, and often an isolating

experience that many find hard to understand. We want you to join us

to learn about available resources within the Catholic community, hear

others share their experiences, pray together, and receive support.

Infertility is complex. Each experience is different. Each experience has

elements of grief, loss, confusion, sadness, isolation, marital stress, and

heartache. With one evening, we cannot address the entire spectrum of

infertility. Here is what we do hope to offer each of you:

A place to be with God.

Resources within our local Catholic community, including

treatment options, supportive ministries, adoption information,

and blogs related to infertility.

Prayerful consideration of where your infertility journey is taking

you – infertility treatment (including NaProTECHNOLOGY),

choosing to adopt, and choosing to live as spiritual parents.

Although no two experiences are the same, validation and

support from those who share the experience of infertility.

Compassion and connection.

Dinner AND Dessert.

Please join us and help spread the word to

couples you know who may be experiencing infertility.
