introduced to ice by his father but is now abstaining fromall drugs and is back at school. However, he still needsto learn how to manage his father.Melanie stressed that Youth Projects is different fromother charities because it takes a long term approach. Itgives hope to the homeless, has low barriers to access, isinclusive and non-judgemental. It provides holistic careat a one stop shop. But the cost of running theorganisation is high and staff such as the night nursesoperate in high risk areas late at night.Melanie thanked RCCMS for its support. Then PresidentGeorge and Community Service Director Peter Duraspresented Melanie with a cheque for $3,200, to fund thenight nurses for an extra 10 nights.
