Vulnerability: The degree to which a system issusceptible to (sensitivity), and unable to copewith (adaptive capacity), adverse effects ofclimate change (including climate variabilityand extremes)

Sensitivity: The degree to which a built, natural, orhuman system is directly or indirectly affectedby changes in climate conditions or specificclimate change impacts. If a system is likely tobe affected as a result of climate change, itshould be considered sensitive to climatechange

Adaptive Capacity: The ability of a system toadjust to climate change, to moderate potentialdamages, to take advantage of opportunities,or to cope with consequences
