Sheila ahuja is a Partner in Allen & Overy’s Global Arbitration group based in

Singapore. She has advised on a wide range of arbitration matters and arbitration

related court matters involving various jurisdictions such as Myanmar, Hong Kong,

Dr Fuyong Chen is the Deputy Secretary General of Beijing Arbitration Commission/

Beijing International Arbitration Center (BAC/BIAC) and the Vice-President of Asia

Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG). He is a qualified PRC lawyer with a LLB

from China University of Political Science and Law, a LLM from Peking University and

a PhD from Tsinghua University. Dr. Chen was a visiting researcher (2007-08) at the

UC Berkeley School of Law and is a Research Fellow of the Center for the Study of

Dispute Resolution at Renmin University of China.

olga Boltenko is a disputes partner at Fangda Partners in Hong Kong. She is a

investment structuring, and investment protection. She acted as legal counsel in

investor-state disputes under the auspices of the Permanent Court of Arbitration,

the hon yvette D’ath is the Queensland Attorney-General, Minister for Justice and

Leader of the House. Yvette was first elected to the Queensland Parliament as the

Member for Redcliffe in February 2014 and again in 2017. Prior to the 2015 election,

Yvette was a member of the Legal Affairs and Community Safety Committee and

the Education and Innovation Committee in the Queensland Parliament. She

previously served in Federal Parliament for two terms as the Member for Petrie from

2007 to 2013. While a member of Federal Parliament, Yvette served on a number of

Parliamentary Committees including as Chair of the Joint Committee on National

Broadband Network, Chair of Privileges and Members’ Interests, as Deputy Chair

of Joint Committee on Public Accounts and Audit, as a member of Joint Standing

Committee on Migration, as a member of the House Standing Committee on

Education and Employment, and a member of the Speakers Panel for the House of

Representatives. Yvette was sworn appointed Federal Parliamentary Secretary for

Climate Change and Energy Efficiency in 2013. Following a subsequent reshuffle, she

served as Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change, Industry and Innovation. Prior

to entering politics, Yvette worked as an industrial advocate.

Admitted in 1989 in WA. kanaga Dharmananda SC commenced practice as a

barrister in January 2006, and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2010. He is also a

member of Fountain Court Chambers, with chambers in London, and in Singapore.

Kanaga has a broad commercial litigation and arbitration practice, with emphasis

on resources, finance, project, and international matters. He appears and acts in

Stephen hibbert is the head of legal services and general counsel of the Qatar

Railways Company. Stephen has over 30 years’ experience as a major projects lawyer

and arbitrator. He qualified first as a civil engineer. He was made Adj. Professor at the

University of New South Wales in 1998 and was a senior lecturer at Sydney University

from 1992 to 1998. Stephen has been in the Middle East now for over 10 years and

whilst in private practice represented the Government of Qatar in project arbitrations

in Doha, before joining Qatar Rail in 2012.

the hon Catherine holmes was sworn in as Chief Justice of Queensland on 11

September 2015, having previously been a Justice of Appeal. Her Honour holds the

degrees of B.Econ (ANU), B.A. (Hons), LLB, LLM (Advanced) (UQ). She was admitted

as a solicitor in 1982 and as a barrister in 1984, taking silk in 1999. While in practice,

Justice Holmes was at various times a part time member of the Anti-Discrimination

Tribunal, Deputy President of the Queensland Community Corrections Board and,

during 1998 and 1999, Counsel assisting the Forde Commission of Inquiry into Child

Abuse. Her Honour was appointed to the Supreme Court of Queensland in March

2000. She was the judge overseeing the Court’s criminal list for some years, and was

the judge constituting the Mental Health Court from February 2005 until May 2006,

when she was appointed to the Court of Appeal. From 16 January 2011 until 16 March

2012, Justice Holmes was the Commissioner of the Commission of Inquiry into the

Queensland Floods 2010-2011.

Brenda horrigan serves as President of the Australian Centre for International

Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of

and served for several years as Global Adjunct Professor of Law at New York University

Prof Doug jones ao is a leading international commercial and investor/state

the hon justice Patrick keane aC was awarded the degree of BA by the University

of Queensland in 1973. In 1976 he was awarded the degree of LL.B. (Hons.) with

degree of B.C.L. (Oxon.) with First Class Honours, and the Vinerian Scholarship and

J.H.C. Morris Prize. In December 1977 he was admitted as a Barrister of the Supreme

In November 1988 he was appointed Queen’s Counsel. From 1992 to 2005 he was

Solicitor-General for Queensland. On 21 February 2005 he was appointed to the

bench of the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Queensland. On 22 March 2010

he was appointed Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia. On 8 December

2011 he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws honoris causa by the University

of Queensland. On 1 March 2013 he was appointed to the High Court of Australia.

Justice Keane was appointed a Companion in the General Division of the Order of

Australia in 2015.

jeremy Quan-Sing is a key member of the Allens international arbitration team,

regularly advising clients in relation to high value and strategic disputes, with a

particular focus on the energy and resources sector and major project disputes.. His

experience includes acting for oil and gas producers, iron ore miners, gold producers

and power producers. Jeremy’s recent experience includes acting for the owners of

a US $34billion LNG project in relation to high value and strategic ICC arbitration,

Paul Sandosham is a leading dispute resolution practitioner and heads the Energy,

Infrastructure & Resources (Disputes) practice for S.E. Asia for Clifford Chance. Paul

(Queensland) on 3 April 2017. Graduating from the University of Queensland, he

(1994-1996), a member of the Queensland Incorporated Council of Law Reporting

(1999-2004) and president of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Tribunal (2001-

2005). From 2005 to 2014 he served as the Solicitor-General of Queensland. He was

Commissioner of the Grantham Floods Commission of Inquiry in 2015 and in 2016 he
