A Symbaloo webmix… this is how you build one!

• Click on the plus on the top left to create a new basic webmix to your Symbaloo account. Give it a proper name.

• Collect links about the subject of your choice, andadd them to the webmix.

• Bring together tiles that can be combined to create a useful webmix.

Design your webmix 1

To make sure your webmix will be useful for the end user, you could take into account:

• Give the tiles a good name.

• Leave some spaces open to create overview.

• You could give the tiles of the same category the same looks.

• To use larger images on your webmix, you could use Picslice: http://picslice.com. Each tile needs 200 * 200 pixels. (thus for the youtube example, its 3 x 2 tiles: 600 * 400 pixels)

Design your webmix 2

If you know how to work with a design program such as photoshop, you can design your webmix even better. We have a tutorial available here: http://bit.ly/photoshoptutorial

• For each tile search for a nice logo and make the background transparent.

• You could also use footers in the tiles to display the names even better and categorize similar tiles. A photoshop file which helps you is available here: http://bit.ly/footers

• You can search for icons on the internet and use them in the tiles.

• Check if all tiles link correctly to the desired website.

• Try to look through the eyes of someone who is not familiar with the subject. Does the webmix help you?

• Share your webmix on Symbaloo.(go with the mouse to the name of the webmix on the blue part,

a menu drops down, click share)

• Send the link that Symbaloo has made for your webmix to info@symbaloo.com
