experience diverse culture and spectacular terrain

In the southwest of St Vincent is the capital, Kingstown,

with quaint cobblestone streets, colonial buildings and

a colourful kaleidoscope of stalls selling fruits and spices,

overlooked by the stone battlements of Fort Charlotte.

The magnificent Botanical Gardens, the oldest in the

Western Hemisphere, boast a wealth of tropical plants,

flowers and trees including the original breadfruit tree

brought from Tahiti in 1793 by Captain Bligh after the

notorious mutiny on his ship, the Bounty.

In the northwest, La Soufrière, a 4,000 ft high volcano

with an immense mile-wide crater, can be reached after

a challenging climb through rainforest, bamboo groves,

montane thicket and cloud forest. At the foot of the

volcano, set amidst a stunning bamboo forest, are the

majestic Dark View Falls which cascade from 300 ft over

step formations of lava rock.

On the west coast is Wallilabou Bay which was used as

the fictional location for Port Royal in the Disney film “The

Pirates of the Caribbean – Curse of the Black Pearl” and its

sequel. Inland the Vermont Nature Trails meander through

lush rain forest which is home to the rare and colourful

St Vincent parrot.

diving

The clear, warm waters surrounding the island of

St Vincent are home to an incredible underwater

world of pristine coral reefs, teeming with a

magnificent abundance of colourful marine life

that is second to none in the Caribbean. Dive sites

are unspoilt and uncrowded, and the volcanic

geography of the island means that the water is

exceptionally clear for most of the year.

Diving ranges from gentle to exhilarating, offering

a selection of pretty wall diving sites, stunning drift

dives and mysterious caves, caverns and wreck

dives suitable for all levels of experience.

Indigo Dive offers guided dives for all levels of

ability and PADI Tuition from Discover SCUBA Diving

to Dive Master.

Divers must be certified to PADI SCUBA Diver or

Open Water Diver. All SCUBA diving excursions

are escorted by at least two crew and boats

are NEVER left unattended whilst divers are in

the water.

All courses include essential equipment hire,

tuition and appropriate course materials and

the maximum size of group classes is four divers.

watersports

For a fun and family-friendly way to explore the sea and

shoreline of Buccament Bay, kayaking, paddle boarding

and Laser performance 'fun boats' provide hours of

entertainment. Snorkelling is the perfect way to enjoy the

spectacular underwater world and discover the nearby 'Bat

Cave' and shipwreck. Beginners can learn how to snorkel

with an instructor and pick up tips on how to identify the

marine life. A trip to Tobago Cays provides the opportunity

to snorkel among the green turtles and observe octopus,

scorpion fish, spotted moray and queen angel fish. A glass

bottom boat tour is the dry way to experience the world

below the waterline. For those who enjoy the thrill of speed,

water skiing, knee boarding and wake-skating are all available.

To take advantage of some of the best cruising grounds in

the world, charter a yacht to sail around the deserted cays,

rocks, sand bars and lagoons of The Grenadines. For a more

high speed adventure, motor boats are available. Dolphin

and whale-watching catamaran trips are also popular.

programmes for both adults and children aged 5 and above in

an environment where everyone is given the opportunity to play

football to the best of their ability, with encouragement and

training to develop the skills necessary to enjoy the game at

challenging and fun and teach the fundamental techniques

of the game, showing players how to develop their ball skills,

focussing on the tactical, physical, mental and social elements

of the game.

The coaches at the Soccer School have been trained to coach

the ‘Liverpool Way’ at the Liverpool Football Club Academy

in the UK and are overseen by ex-Liverpool FC player David

Fairclough, Director of the Liverpool Football Club Soccer

Schools in the Caribbean.

Broadcaster Andy Townsend is the Director of Sports for Harlequin
