AIM

•We wanted to find out if the

bubbles could power the boat

with baking soda and vinegar

mixed together.

Page 3: Bubble boats

MATERIALS

•Straw cut in half, small bottle, tissues,

funnel, baking soda, vinegar, hot glue

gun, craft knife, and the swimming pool,

rocks, cardboard, plastic.

Page 4: Bubble boats

METHOD 1

• We got a bottle and cut a hole in it. We cut the straw

in half. Put part of the straw in the bottle. We hot

glued around the straw to stop the water going in.

We put vinegar inside the bottle using a funnel. Then

Mrs Weir got a tissue and filled it up with baking soda

and wrapped it up tight.

METHOD 2

•To make our boat better than the

first one, we put plastic and

cardboard on the bottom and put

rocks inside the bottle.

WHAT BOAT DO THINK WORKED BETTER?

Boat 1 Boat 2

Page 7: Bubble boats

YES

• The second one was better than the first one because, it floated better with the

cardboard and the plastic on the bottom and rocks in the bottle. The first boat kept

tipping over and sinking.

Page 8: Bubble boats

NO

•Because it sank really fast and kept turning

over. The second one was better than the

first one because, it floated better with the

cardboard and the plastic on the bottom

and rocks in the bottle.
