3. Age : Between 18-27 years as on 13/05/2013. The upper age limit isrelaxable by 5 years for SC/ST & 3 years for OBC candidates ,10years for PH persons . 6.Examination fee : Rs. 500 /- (Rs. Five hundred only) in the form of Demand Draft froma Nationalized Bank / Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of Accounts Officer (Cash), O/O Principal General Manager / O/oGeneral Manager, BSNL, of the respective SSA where the candidatedesires to apply, payable at its Head Quarters. No fee for SC/ST & PHCandidates. Exemption to PH candidates however will be available toonly those handicapped persons with O.L, BL, PD and who enclosewith the application form, necessary certificate from approved

Medical board in support of his claim for the disabilities.Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

7.Centre of exam : Centre of examination will be at SSA Head Quarters. 8.Method of Selection : Through a Competitive Examination(OMR based) to be conducted as per

the schedule given below followed by a medical test. Appointment & posting will be subject to successful completion of pre appointmenttraining.

Minimum qualifying marks for different category of candidates will be as follows:a).Minimum qualifying marks in the Paper will be 40% for the General category (OC) and 33 % for thecandidates of SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH categories. The question paper shall comprise of three parts of 20, 90and 90 each, as prescribed in the Scheme and Syllabus . There will be a single paper of 200 marks andeach question shall carry one mark.

b). The Minimum qualifying marks in each of the three parts of the question paper will be 30% for OCand 20% for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ ST categories. ie, the minimum passing marks in each of the three parts in respect of OC will be 6, 27 and 27 respectively whereas in respect of OBC/ SC/ ST , itwill be 4,18 and 18 respectively.c). Further relaxation of 2% in marks will be given to the physically handicapped candidates in eachcategory viz. OC-PH, OBC-PH, SC-PH & ST-PH.d). There will be negative marking for each wrong answer, 25% of mark of that question shall bededucted .

10 . . Last Date : Applications should be sent to the concerned PGM/ GMs ,so as to reachthem on or before 13-05-2013 . Applications received after the due date will

11. Rejection : Applications received after the last date viz 13-05-2013 (Up to 5 PM )and in-complete in any respect are liable to be summarilyrejected.

12. Registration in : Registration in employment exchange is not mandatory.Employment Exchange However, it would be preferable, if the applicant has registration in the

employment exchange of the SSA concerned to which the applicant applies. Incase two or more successful candidates show equal performance in the test andhave, same date of birth etc , preference will be givento those candidates who have registered their names in the Employment

Exchange of the concerned SSA in which they have applied.

13 . How to apply The candidates may submit their applications in the Pro forma given inAnnexure-I The application should be legible and readable in thick plain paper of A4 size (on one side). Two recent passport size photograph should beaffixed in the space provided for in the application. Copy of syllabus is attached. This will also be available on the Notice board in the Office of the head of SSAs. Hall permit will be issued to eligible candidates by the concerned SSA.

14 . Training : Selected candidates have to undergo a training imparted by BSNL for a periodof 10 weeks. During the period of training, stipend will be paid as per rules in force.

Also they have to execute a bond in the format prescribed by the BSNL for a period of 2years from the date of their appointment as TTA15. Disqualification : 1. No person (a.) who has entered in to or contracted a marriage with a person having a

spouse living or b) who having a spouse living entered in to or contracted a marriagewith any person shall be eligible for appointment, provided that the Company may if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such

person and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for so doingexempt any person from the operation of this rule.

16. Probatio n The candidates appointed shall remain on probation for a period of 2 years.

17. Already employed in the government service :Candidates working in Government service / Public Sector Undertaking should sent their applications

SCHEME & SYLLABUS FOR TTA DIRECT RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION

The standard of Paper in General ability test will be such as may be expected of an Engineering Diploma holder. The standard of papers in other subjectswill approximately be that of Diploma level of an Indian Polytechnic. There shall be asingle multiple choice objective type paper of 3hrs. duration as per details given below:

The candidates comprehension and understanding of General English shall betested through simple exercise such as provision of antonyms and synonyms, fill in the

blanks and multiple choice exercise etc. This shall also include questions on currentevents, general knowledge and such matters of everyday observation and experiences asmay be expected of Diploma holder.

PART.II: BASIC ENGINEERING - 90 MARKS

The questions will be of objective type. Each question carriesone mark and there will be negative marking. For eachwrong answer 25% mark of that question will be deducted.

7. MINIMUM QUALIFYING STANDARDS: BSNL shall fix minimumqualifying marks for OC/OBC/SC/ST etc., Candidates obtaining lessthan minimum qualifying marks shall not be considered for inclusion

in the merit-list. The merit-list will be drawn up depending on thevacancies. The appearance of the name in the merit-list does notconfer any right to the candidate for employment. A final callletter/appointment letter will be issued to the candidate aftercompletion of all other formalities.

8. LAST DATE : Applications should be sent to the concerned SSAsPGMTs/ GMTs so as to reach them on or before 13.05.2013 .

Applications received after the due date will be rejected and no

further correspondence will be entertained.

9. REJECTION : Applications received without the requiredExamination fee in the form of Demand Draft / BSNL Cash Receiptswithout attested copies of certificates, the applications received afterthe due date and incomplete applications will summarily be rejected.No further correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

10. REGISTRATION IN EMPLOYMENT EXCHANGE: Registration in

Employment Exchange is not mandatory.

11 . BOND & TRAINING: All candidates recruited against thevacancies for direct recruitment shall execute a Bond in theProforma as prescribed by the Company to serve in BSNL for a periodof 2 years from the date of their appointment as Telecom Technical

Assistant. The candidates selected have to undergo a training for a

period of 10 weeks as per the training plan laid down by theCompany before their appointment as Telecom Technical Assistant .During the period of training, stipend will be paid by BSNL, as per therules in force.

12. DISQUALIFICATION: No person, -(a) who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person;having a spouse living or

(b) who having a spouse living, has entered into or contracteda marriage with any person,

shall be eligible for appointment to the said post provided thatthe Company may if satisfied that such marriage is permissible underthe personal law applicable to such person and the other party to themarriage and that there are other grounds for so doing exempt any

person from the operation of this rule.13. PROBATION: The candidates appointed shall remain on probationfor a period of two years.

14 . ALREADY EMPLOYED IN GOVT. SERVICE: Candidates working inGovernment Service Central / State / Public Sector undertakingsshould send their application through the Head of their Office/Department so as to reach the concerned SSA within the due date.

Application received after the due date will summarily be rejected.

15. Candidates are advised to send application to ONE SSA only andthey will be considered for vacancies of that SSA only and they willhave to write the examination in the respective Examination centre of the SSA where they have applied. No change of examination centrewill be entertained.

Mode of Selection: By means of competitive examination to be held in accordance with syllabusand Programme as under. Exam will be held at SSA level and Merit list will be drawn by respective SSA. Thereshall be only One Paper of multiple choice objective type(OMR based) of three hours duration with thefollowing details:-

Medical Fitness:- The selected candidates will be required to undergo a medical Test to ensure that theyare physically fit and mentally alert to perform the duties expected of a TTA before sending them on TTAstraining.

Period of Probation :- 2 years

Concessions for SC Candidates:-

(a) Traveling Allowance to SC candidate: The applicants belonging to SC categories will be entitled to T.Aas per provisions of Central Government. Filled up TA Form in the format attached .

(b) Pre-recruitment training for SC Candidates :- Necessary Pre-Recruitment training for SC candidates willbe conducted at CTTC Kurukshetra. Willing candidates may send their request alongwith application.Bond and Training :- All the candidates shall execute a bond in the form specified by the BSNL indicating theirwillingness to serve the BSNL for a period of Two years from the date of appointment as TTA. The selectedcandidates, before their appointment as TTA will have to successfully undergo prescribed training as pertraining plan laid down and amended by the BSNL from time to time. The appointment and posting will besubject to successful completion of training. During training period, the direct recruited TTAs will be entitled toa stipend of Rs.4970/- plus IDA admissible thereon and allowances as amended by the BSNL from time to time.The seniority of the candidates will be decided on their post training marks.

Service Liability : - Normally within the territorial jurisdiction of Secondary Switching Area (SSA) buttransferable anywhere in Haryana. Candidates if required are also liable to serve in the Territorial Army /Signal Unit in accordance with rules made there under.

Registration in Employment Exchange :- There is no restriction of residence or essential condition of registration with the Employment Exchange in the particular SSA in which the applicant may apply. It would,however, be preferable if the applicant has registration in the employment exchange of the SSA concerned inwhich the applicant applies.

SCEHEME & SYLLABUS FOR TTA DIRECT RECRUITMENT EXAMINATION

The standard of paper in General ability test will be such as may be expected of an EngineeringDiploma holder. The standard of papers in other subjects will be approximately be that of Diploma level of Indian Polytechnic. There shall be single multiple choice objective type Paper of 3 hours duration as per detailsgiven below:-

Note:- Minimum qualifying marks for different category of candidates will be as follows:-(a) Minimum qualifying marks in the paper will be 40% for the General Category(OC) and 33% for the

candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PH categories. The Question paper shall comprise of these parts of 20,90and 90 each, as prescribed in the scheme and Syllabus. There will be a single paper of 200 marks andeach question shall carry one mark.

(b) The minimum qualifying marks in each of the three parts of Question paper will be 30% for OC and20% for candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories i.e the minimum passing marks in each of the 3parts in respect of OBC/SC/ST, it will be 6,27 and 27 respectively whereas in respect of OBC/SC/ST, itwill be 4,18 and 18 respectively.

(c) Further relaxation of 2% in marks will be given to the physically Handicapped candidates in eachcategory viz OC-PH,OBC-PH,SC-PH and ST-PH.

(d) There will be negative marking for each wrong one , 25% of mark of that question shall be deducted.

PART-I: GENERAL ABILITY TEST- 20 MARKS ` The candidates comprehension and understanding of General English shall be tested through

simple exercise such as provision of antonyms and synonyms, fill in the blanks and multiple-choiceexercises etc. This shall also include questions on current events, general knowledge and suchmatters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of Diploma holder.
