Letter: Working Together Dear Editor: Voters in Idaho have a great opportunity in District 26 by electing Alex Sutter for House Seat B. I’ve known Alex Sutter for over 15 years. We have been colleagues working together for a long time, but more importantly we’re friends. While this may not seem worthy enough to write this letter, I believe it is. Idahoans like all Americans are facing a more partisan political environment each election cycle. An environment where getting things done for Idaho and Idahoans is hampered by the inability to work together. Alex and I are on opposite sides of many issues, but work together and have achieved many goals over the years. The ability to work and find solutions is a talent few seem to value these days. Our state will not and cannot move forward if we don’t elect people who are capable to find solutions that benefit as many Idahoans as possible. Alex is goal oriented and has a long track record of achievements. I have witnessed Alex’s willingness to find solutions. Finding an equitable way to expand Medicaid is key. Alex brings unique qualities to the House. He completely understands insurance. Like all professional agents, he has had to look other Idahoans in the eye who are hoping for help and tell them, sorry, there is none. Alex works hard to find the correct solutions that fit his clients’ needs. Alex does the right thing. It’s how he works. District 26 has the opportunity to do the right thing. Elect Alex Sutter. Take it from me; doing nothing is simply not acceptable to my good friend Alex Sutter. Alex’s abilities to achieve and work with all people, even crazy liberals like me. Kevin Lish, Inkom

My vote? I vote for curb feelers! Curb feelers! On a ’51 Caddy!

Letter: Supports Education Reforms Dear Editor: A vote for Dale Ewersen is a vote for common-sense responsible leadership. Because Dale believes that we can manage our lives and businesses better without government overreach, he advocates for less regulation so businesses can thrive, grow, and hire more workers. Dale thinks that our local schools can best address where resources are placed and he supports Idaho’s education reforms, like funding the teacher career ladder and K-3 reading literacy program. Want to help kids succeed in life? Make sure they are reading at grade level by the third grade, otherwise you are setting them up to fail. He’d like to see more apprenticeships for high school seniors with local businesses, a community grass-roots way to grow our students’ employment prospects. Dale listens well and will seek solutions with a good deal of thought. These are a few important reasons why Dale will serve us well in the Idaho Senate. He’ll work hard for Blaine County and Idaho. Pete Stommel, Ketchum

Up for Re-Election!

Dave Sanders for Sheriff!

Wave, Dave!

Letter: Valuable Experience! Dear Editor: It is my privilege to add my name to those who support Alex Sutter for House Position 26-B. Mr. Sutter has a valuable background in several very difficult core areas we face in the legislature. I look forward to his help as we struggle with the rising cost of health care for all our citizens, and the less than adequate coverage in some areas. Alex has years of experience in the insurance business Alex has served on the Richfield School board and is fully aware of the value of an education system, public or home, which will prepare our students for the jobs that are rapidly coming into our state. His will be a voice of experience to help continue the state goals toward a better educational system. As a father of four children, he is committed to providing the best choices for all families. Each year the legislature has the opportunity to have bright young students serve as pages. Last session, Olivia Sutter was my special assistant. Olivia was able, bright, and dedicated to making a difference. I am sure she is a reflection of the values and traits leaned at home. I look forward to having Olivia’s dad serve also in the Idaho State Legislature. We need his abilities, background, and desire to serve as we continue to work on solutions to the issues important to the citizens of Idaho. Please join me and vote for Alex Sutter, District 26 on November 8th. Rep. Maxine T. Bell, District 25, Jerome

The Over The Road Car Club from Down Below came to Fairfield last Saturday! Fancy road lunch at Jim Dandy’s Pizza Pub! Of course, Ballards were involved! Why do you ask? Our hometown car enthusiasts played host to visitors in search of pizza and the open road! Above we see a saucy Super Sport and what looks to me like a GTO! Below, two Cadillacs: one huge-legroom model, and a sedately tasty ‘’51 two-door. Imagine the ethereal state of mind that riding in that ’51 could induce! And at right, a hometown ’51 Ford with delectable Tu-Tone seats that call out to be sat upon! ❦
