Clubhouse NewsMegan Trypus, Food & Beverage Director

From the PresidentDecember at Lake View brings us all of the Holiday cheer that we need. The Santa brunch is a great time to take the children and grandchildren out to meet Santa and get a jump on those presents. The Sleigh ride brunch is our family’s favorite because of the horses and the sleigh and the beautiful scenery provided by Lake View. Come for one or both!

Lake View is a great venue for holiday parties and group gatherings for drinks or fine dinners or both. Don’t forget to make your reservations so that we may serve you better..

New Years eve dinner is planned with a jazz band for your enjoyment.

I know what I want for Christmas, 75 degrees and sunny for the next 200 years! Let’s see if my wife comes through with that!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families, and to all of our members and our OUTSTANDING staff!

Regards, Greg

60th Anniversary Commemorative Clock!Lloyd Krull has brought a suggestion to the board to purchase a beautiful clock in celebration of our 60th Anniversary and to beautify our course for many years to come. This clock is 15 feet tall and will be 4-sided. The rendering on the left is 2-sided and is just to give members an idea of how substantial it is and what it will look like. Dr. Eric Van Damia has volunteered to chair the committee for planning. This will only be done if we get enough contributions to cover the cost.

If interested please contact Eric by email [email protected]

MOST IMPROVED The GHIN System ranks players based on a formula that assumes it is more difficult for a low handicap player to improve a large number of strokes than it is for a higher handicap player. The USGA recommends the following formula: Add 12 to the player’s index at the start of the season (value A). Add 12 to the player’s index at the end of the season (value B). Divide value A by value B. Calculate to three decimal points. This is the improvement factor. The player with the highest improvement factor is the most improved. For example, a player that begins the year with a 7 handicap and improves to a 6, (1.055) improves more than a player that begins with a 33 handicap and finishes with a 31 (1.046).

Based on the GHIN Formula, the rankings are as follows:Handicap indexes are for April 1, 2018 to November 15, 2018
