THE PETROLEUM CLUB DRESS CODEAs we get into a more casual season, we just wanted to give you a friendly reminder about the dress code. Business casual is always preferred. Appropriate denim (not faded, baggy, torn or tattered) is acceptable. No tank tops, t-shirts, athletic wear or hats are permitted. It is the member’s responsibility to inform their guests of the dress code prior to arrival. Exceptions are at the discretion of management.

This month we are shining the spotlight on Ian Byram. Ian is a geologist with Heritage Energy and is one of our junior young professionals. He also serves on our House Committee and is very active with the planning committee. His dad, Kevin Byram, has been a member of the Petroleum Club since 1987 and we are delighted to see Ian carry on the tradition of membership at the club. He joined the club so that he would have a place to bring friends or business associates to eat or get a drink after work. Being a member has helped him because it’s a great place to network and make connections he would have not made otherwise. A number of these connections have led to new business investment opportunities for him.

When asked what he enjoys most about the Petroleum Club, he said he enjoys the sense of camaraderie. He feels a sense of belonging that you don’t feel at a restaurant or bar. His tip for new business owners? “Join the Club and come to the events. You will be surprised who you meet and talk to.” For new members, Ian’s advice is to come to the Club, take advantage of the events and don’t be afraid to meet new people. The Club has members of all ages, professions and backgrounds. You are bound to make new friends or find a new business opportunity.

Club presents... Junior Chef Camp 2019Looking for something fun for your kids to do this summer?

Look no further.

The Petroleum Club has partnered with Chef Jessica Comegys to offer a 3-day cooking camp for your aspiring young chefs

ages 5 to 13 years old.

July 9, 10, and 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon

Cost $125 per student

Under the instruction and guidance of Chef Jessica, our junior chefs will prepare and eat a meal each day they

are here. Registration includes their own apron, cooking utensils and recipes to use at home.

About Chef Jessica: She is a Shreveport native, a graduate from the BPCC culinary program, and has been a chef for fifteen years. She is the owner of Caspiana Catering and Meal Prep, is a certified holistic health coach,

a contributor to Lola Magazine, and was a finalist in the LA Food Prize Golden Fork challenge.
