Brother Jairus Alexander Coates
Jairus A. Coates continues to
exceed expectations in his
sophomore year at Bowie State
University and is seeking a
degree in music technology.
After college, he hopes to work
in the music/song production
business.
The former Lackey High School
Grad and member of Pleasant Grove Missionary
Baptist Church (PGMBC) is on the 2015 Fall
Semester Dean's List at Bowie State University.
Wow!
Not only is he excelling in the classroom; but, also
on the Track & Field Team. In his freshman year,
Jairus made the CIAA All Conference Team in the
Long Jump and High Jump with impressive career
jumps of 22.6 feet and 45.3 feet, respectively. As an
active member of Bowie State University Gospel
Choir and in addition to his already hectic schedule,
Jairus finds time to impress audiences with his God
given singing ability, as well as, his self-taught talent
of playing the piano.
As an active member of PGMBC, Jairus is involved
with the Audio/Visual Ministry, the Young Adults Sunday School Class, as well as, a member of Deac
& the Boyz Gospel Group. Oh! To be so young and
blessed! (see page 2 for conclusion.)

The President’s Message
Attend Sunday School?. . . Why?. . . Why Not?
Some people are of the opinion that Sunday School is only for children. Noth-ing could be further from the truth. Sunday School provides an important place for many things in the lives of adult believers.
Sunday School is A Place of Knowledge: “When they had eaten breakfast,
Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than
these?” “Yes Lord,” he said to Him, “You know that I love You.” “Feed My
lambs,” He told him.” (John 21:15, Holman CSB).
Jesus admonished Peter three times to feed His sheep as an act of love. How
important it is for all who wear the title “Christian” to live out what they be-
lieve. If we love the Lord, then we need to obey the Lord. To obey the Lord
we need to know His Word ourselves. Studying the Bible - God’s Word - is
essential to faith. Visit a Union Church and Be Blessed!

An Easter Lily!
Brother Samuel Mackenzie Kelly
Samuel M. Kelly is the youngest
son of Deacon Stanley and Sis-
ter Sinthea Kelly of the Mace-
donia Baptist Church and the
brother of Stanley M. Kelly, II.
Samuel is a junior at the
Reginald F. Lewis College of
Business at Virginia State Uni-
versity (VSU) pursuing a Bache-

a successful entrepreneur.
Samuel is actively engaged in VSU’s Tutoring Pro-
gram at Walnut Hill Elementary and First Baptist
Church, Campus Christian Ministry, Ettrick Food
Bank, Halfway House Outreach, and is a member of
the Business Management Club. Samuel is perform-
ing exceptionally at VSU. He has been challenged
academically and professionally. The blessing is his
commitment to God, others and his community. The
link below is Samuel’s testimonial on experiences at
VSU: http://business.vsu.edu/testimonials/index.php.
God has prepared him to achieve excellence in all that
he undertakes. Samuel means “God heard” and our
prayer is that “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in
thee” Isaiah 26:3. (see page 2 for additional info.)
