BRONZE AWARD
Use this READING RECORD to help you to get the most out of the School Library and to enjoy books.
Each book you read counts towards the award of a READING CERTIFICATE.
There are THREE certificates:
BRONZE AWARD (5 BOOKS)SILVER AWARD (10 BOOKS)GOLD AWARD (10 BOOKS)
Certificates will be awarded on an individual basis when you have completed the tasks set for each level.
It is important that you keep an accurate record of your progress on the back of this booklet. When you are ready to move on to the Silver Award you will be given a new booklet to complete.
Your teacher will want to see your Reading Record regularly to check on your progress so keep it up to date.
Write in blue or black ink (or pencil, if you prefer) and keep your Reading Record neat and graffiti-free.

Reading Record Bronze Award
THE BRONZE CERTIFICATE
To be awarded your Bronze Certificate you have to read FIVE books from the School Library.
After you have read EACH book you must complete ONE task from the list below.
You must choose a different task for each book but you can do the tasks in any order.
(For each task there is a page with instructions for you to follow.)
The tasks are:
B1. Write a book review. (You might like to write it on Searchstar.)
B2. Design a new cover for a book.
B3. Make a ten question quiz based on a book. (Include the answers.)
B4. Write a letter to the author telling him/her what you thought of a book.
B5. Draw a cartoon of the most exciting part of a book.
B6. Make a wordsearch based on a book.
B7. Prepare and give a two-minute talk to the rest of the class.
When you have finished the five books and five tasks, complete The Best and the Worst sheet (B8).
Then show your completed Reading Record to your English teacher to claim your certificate.
Remember, if you do not understand what to do or you need help, ASK YOUR TEACHER or THE LIBRARIAN.
