INTRODUCTION
The short course will cover current andemerging technologies in the field of Videoprocessing. The participants will beintroduced to the fundamental concepts inthe field of Video processing and will beexplained the current techniques in the area
including exposure to some of the morepopular Video standards.
TH E WORKSHOP
The short course will be conducted over tendays with lecture sessions in the evening6:00 PM to 9:00 PM followed by opendiscussions.
LECTURES WILL COVER Video Processing Fundamentals:
Video Signal Representation - frames,fields, colour system, PAL, NTSC, etc.
Basic Compression informationtheoretic issues: vector quantisation,transform coding , R-D curves,entropy coding
Still Image Compression (JPEG &JPEG 2000)
Video Compression -1 (MPEG-1 &MPEG-2)
Video Compression-2 (H.264)
Video Compression-3 (MPEG4 basics, object coding, systems)
MPEG-7 and Video contentprocessing.
