WHAT IS PERFECT COFFEE?

A careful balance between temperature and saturation time is essential for an optimal coffee taste.

TEMPERATURE

If the coffee tastes bitter, the water tempera-ture is too high. If the coffee tastes sour, then the water is too cold. The optimum brewing temperature is between 92 and 96 °C. At this temperature the aroma-containing oils dissolve well, with an ideal balance between sweet, sour and bitter. The unique Moccamaster heating element, made from copper, ensures this ideal brewing temperature.

SATURATION TIME

The correct saturation time is also important. For a full jug (10 cups) the correct saturation time is 6 minutes. At the beginning the sour flavours are released, at the end the bitter substances. If the extraction time is too short, the coffee will taste sour; if the brewing process takes too long, the coffee will taste too bitter. A Moccamaster brews 1.25 l in precisely 6 minutes. The KBG Select also makes less coffee with the correct saturation time.

Due to the good quality, your Moccamaster will last for years. In addition, filter coffee is more environmentally friendly than other brewing methods: the coffee residue is compostable.

DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION

Moccamaster has been known for many years for the unique copper heating element for the perfect coffee temperature. 10 cups of delicious coffee are ready within 6 minutes, that’s convenient and fast. But, with product development, it is important to listen carefully to the needs and wishes of cus-tomers.

The KBG Select is the result of a much heard wish: an optimal coffee taste and temperature, when brewing smaller quantities of coffee. With the special switch you make the choice whether you want to brew a few cups or a whole jug. The special two-phase heating element of the KBG Select ensures that the brewing process is slower when brewing less coffee. You are assured of the same temperature and full taste as when you brew a full jug.

MOCCAMASTER GRINDERS AND MACHINES: A GOOD COUPLE

• Moccamaster grinders give an even filter grind and are quick and easy to operate.• The bean container and the grinding chamber are separate. The coffee beans are not heated by the

grinding temperature and therefore do not lose any aroma, as is the case with conventional blade grinders.

• The blade works like a propeller, which blows the ground coffee evenly through the fine stainless steel strainer. The ground coffee no longer comes in contact with the blade.
