May 26, 2015 Biomedical Research Models, Inc. Announces Management Agreement with Ekam Imaging Inc. and the Addition of Key Personnel. For Immediate Release: (Worcester and Boston, MA) –Biomedical Research Models, Inc. (BRM), a preclinical discovery CRO with expertise in metabolic, autoimmune and infectious diseases, has entered a management agreement with Ekam Imaging, BRM founder and CEO Dennis Guberski announced today. While each company will remain independent, BRM will provide Ekam with management support and oversight of its business and Ekam will offer its MRI-based neuroimaging technology to BRM and its clients, providing a combined portfolio of translatable models unique in the industry. Dr. Craig Ferris, Director of the Center for Translational Neuroimaging, and Professor of Psychology and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Northeastern University and co-founder of Ekam, commented “Partnering with BRM allows Ekam to expand into new areas such as obesity and diabetes. BRM’s expertise provides us with models to study changes in the patterns of brain function and integrated neural circuits comparing these to human imaging data on brain activity.” As part of this agreement, industry veterans from Ekam will transition to employment with BRM. Mark Nedelman, who has more than 25 years of drug discovery and development experience, will become BRM’s Executive Vice-President and will continue in his current role as Ekam’s President. In addition, April Hall brings more than 20 years of preclinical business development experience to BRM and will become Executive Director of Business Development. “The addition of both Mark and April to our team at BRM, as well as the scientific partnership with Ekam Imaging, is consistent with our vision and strategy to become the leader of discovery-based CRO services in the industry,” said Guberski.
