ABOUT BRITWEEK
BritWeek is a non-‐profit organiza2on, started in Los Angeles in 2007 by Nigel Lythgoe and the then Consul General Bob Peirce, to highlight the
crea2ve fusion between the United Kingdom and the US.
Every spring BritWeek hosts a program of events that promotes Bri2sh crea2vity, innova2on and excellence across mul2ple categories including, film & television, music, art, fashion, design, retail, sport, philanthropy, business, and more. Along with BritWeek Los Angeles, BritWeek has launched programs in Orange County, San Francisco, and Miami.
BritWeek's philanthropic contribu2ons have included fundraising for Malaria No More, Save the Children, LA’s BEST, Children’s Hospital Los
Angeles, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and programs promo2ng children’s sports, children's literacy and interna2onal professional internships.

RED CARPET LAUNCH April 22, 2014
BritWeek’s exci2ng Red Carpet Launch party kicks off the BritWeek Los Angeles program and aVracts many celebri2es, VIPs, poli2cians and dignitaries. The red carpet ensures photos of the stars are blasted all around the globe and hieng computers and newsstands within hours.
The event is held at a private residence in Hancock Park for 350+ invita2on-‐only VIP guests, celebri2es, and press. The Launch receives substan2al press aVen2on and generates millions of media impressions. In previous years, the Red Carpet Launch has been featured on American Idol, E!, Access Hollywood, Good Day LA, plus ITV and BBC in the UK.

The BritWeek UKTI Business Innova2on Awards, presented by Virgin Atlan2c, is a compe22on for companies with a business presence in the UK & California. The event recognizes and highlights innova2ve companies in five key categories: Technology, Social Impact, Product Design, and Business Services An audience of 250 investors, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and press gathers at the pres2gious Four Seasons Hotel for an evening of business networking and entertainment (including a special guest speaker) where the winners are announced. Companies in aVendance are all interested and engaged in the US/UK business rela2onship. Judges include Sir Ken Robinson, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum, Disney Chairman Andy Bird,& Fox LA Co-‐Anchor Carlos Amezcua.

The BritWeek Christopher Guy Design Icon Award Recep2on celebrates Bri2sh design In 2013, we honored Director of Design for Jaguar, Ian Callum, and also showcased the fashion designs of Dita Von Teese with the designer herself present.

BritWeek’s annual charity recep2on is a lively and pres2gious event aVended by 500 leaders in business, culture, poli2cs, and media, as well as influen2al Bri2sh talent. This event also has a star-‐studded red carpet and receives significant press coverage. Celebri2es and VIPs are invited to aVend an exclusive VIP recep2on before the main event. BritWeek supports a different charity every year. Previous partners have included LA Children’s Hospital, LA’s BEST, Malaria No More, Virgin Unite, Save the Children and more. BRITWEEK CHARITY EVENT
BritWeek Los Angeles 2014 will include a number of events marking the 450th Anniversary of William Shakespeare. One highlight will be an in2mate "Evening with Shakespeare" at the new Moss Theatre on April 25th. The evening will comprise Shakespearean readings and songs, performed by leading Shakespearean actors, including Michael York & Julian Sands, and by California's own Millennium Consort singers conducted by the eminent Bri2sh choral director Mar2n Neary.

An Evening with Shakespeare will be a unique and in2mate event for 250 guests with a program selected by the performers themselves, who will talk about what Shakespeare means to them, and will include a VIP recep2on to meet and talk to the performers.
Proceeds from the evening will benefit two extraordinary Children’s Shakespeare programs in Los Angeles: Inner City Shakespeare and The Hobart Shakespeareans

2014 will be BritWeek’s second annual public event on Robertson Blvd -‐ one of Los Angeles’ most popular shopping des2na2ons aVrac2ng thousands of people daily. This full-‐day event, held on Saturday April 26, 2014, will feature exci2ng Bri2sh displays and interac2ve branded elements on the sidewalks of Robertson Blvd, as well as in-‐store events, live music, special promo2ons, and more.
On this day, Robertson Blvd is dedicated to celebra2ng BritWeek and all things Bri2sh! Robertson Blvd is home to over 50 luxury retail stores and restaurants including 5 Bri2sh brands – Ted Baker, Reiss, Anya Hindmarch, All Saints and Joseph.

BRITWEEK SANTA MONICA FESTIVAL May 3 & 4, 2014 Now in its second year, BritWeek will once again take over the Third Street Promenade -‐ the largest pedestrian-‐only shopping street and visitor des2na2on in Los Angeles area -‐ to host an exci2ng fes2val celebra2ng all things Bri2sh. In 2013, this event aVracted 120,000+ people, and engaged the community, visitors, and one of t he l a r ge s t B r i 2 sh e x -‐pa t communi2es on the West Coast!
Brands involved in 2013 included Walkers Shortbread, Jaguar, Boots, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolu2on, and more, who used the event to build brand awareness, sell product, giveaway samples and informa2on, and drive online and social media traffic!

Our 2014 Fes2val will be even bigger and beVer, combing the rich heritage of the UK with modern, crea2ve and interac2ve elements. We will have tradi2onal entertainment alongside some of the best in Bri2sh brands. This year we will also celebrate 450 years of Shakespeare as we bring this famous playwright to l i fe through stage performances, music, roving street performers, and more. Adding to that excitement, an interna2onally notable California & UK street ar2st will create modern interpreta2ons of Shakespeare through street art murals.
