BMJ, December 8, 2009

Governments have been stockpiling the antiviral drug oseltamivir(Tamiflu) as a defence against pandemic flu.

Now the medical journal BMJ has claimed there isinsufficient evidence that the drug prevents seriouscomplications of flu to warrant the policy.In a series of articles, it says the Swiss pharmaceuticals giant Roche,which sells the drug as Tamiflu, has concealed the detailed dataneeded to support claims of its effectiveness.
