The product is for tensile strength, compression, and bending test of various test sample. Since some parts of the machine can be dangerous to operators or other people around the machine, please fully be aware of the descriptions in Section - 2 for safe operation of the product.
Especially, in case of too big sized test sample that exceeds machine capacity, please pay special attention to it.To test those test samples, please contact Daekyung in advance to check if it is possible.

Precautions during installation
1) Ensure to check power supply in the installation place! - This product is designed for AC 220V, 1 A, 1ph, 50~60Hz. - If power voltage is wrong, over current may cause a damage of the machine. - If you have different power voltage, please contact us.
2) Check for power earthing status. - Earthing work can prevent electrical shock.
3) Check input power cable - If it is possible, use exclusive power cable for the machine. - If the thickness of power cable in the input part does not match the capacity, it can cause a fire owing to over load.
4) Install the machine on a flat place. - This product is precise machine. - Never install the product on a slope or uneven place.

OutlineBrinell hardness tester presses an indenter of steel ball onto test sample with regular test load,and divide the load applied to a test sample by mark area (diameter) to get hardness value. The values are divided into HB, HBS, HBW according to the types of the steel ball. Usually, Brinell hardness tester is used to test hardness of casting, cast steel, and metallic material.

① Select test load (500 ~ 3000) kgf, and put weight hanger and test load weight on the machine. ② Select a indenter(5mm or 10mm) and mount it on indenter holder.
③ Select Anvil (flat Anvil or VAnvil) and connect it to the upper part of the screw.
④ Place a test sample on Anvil, turn the screw handle clockwise to rise the screw to softly contact indenter and the test sample.
⑤ Turn valve clockwise to close it and pump operate operating lever up and down. At this point, check the pressure gauge. When load rises up to the selected load, operate the pump slowly and stops operating the pump when test load weight rises about 40㎜.

⑥ After load maintain time, open the valve by turning counterclockwise to remove the load. At this point, if you open the valve suddenly, test load will be reduced rapidly giving impact to the machine. Therefore, conduct all operations slowly.
⑦ Turn the screw handle counterclockwise to take the test sample out, and measure the diameter using measuring microscope and then read hardness value referring to attached Conversion Table

⑤ Set load maintain time (10 ~15 seconds) using the timer.
⑥ When the steel ball contact closely with a test sample, press START button.
⑦ To rapidly stop a test, press Emergency Stop button. At this point, the applied pressure will be back to initial status.
⑧ Turn the screw handle counterclockwise to take the test sample out, and measure the diameter using measuring microscope and then read hardness value referring to Conversion Table on the side of the machine or Reference Table in the manual.

Precautions during test
- Roughly process contacting surface of test sample and Anvil to make them flat for a test. - Make test sample and indenter axis to be vertical and mark surface should not to be too coarse. - Generally, steel ball indenter with 5, 10㎜ diameter are usually used for Brinell hardness tester, and load of 3000, 1500, 1000, 750, 500㎏f are usually used.
- Selection of D (diameter of indenter) and P (test load) is important and the following conditions must be met. - If D/d is smaller than 0.25, the mark is too small to measure it and error of measurement is getting bigger. If D/d is bigger than 0.6, diameter of pressure mark does not change much according to the variation of hardness. Therefore, we can see variation of hardness clearly.

- If you use a steel ball indenter to test strong light alloy, permanent deformation will occur to the indenter. Therefore, we use a steel ball indenter for test sample below HB 450 and we use a cemented carbide ball indenter for HB 600~650.

- Marking hardness valve: mark the type and size of diameter load of the used indenter.
- Also mark the standard and load of the steel ball (Ø) along with hardness value.* ex) If you get value of 321 by applying load of 3,000kgf with steel ball of 10mm, ☞ put down HBW (10/3000) 321.
- In case of the long time use of the machine, hydraulic fluid (#68) of oil tank (cylinder) will slowly flow into the auxiliary tank in the control box. However, there is auto function to supplement the hydraulic fluid in the auxiliary tank to the main cylinder. Accordingly, you do not have to replace the fluid frequently.

Before test

Before test
- Check if the indenter and load is correct according to the scale.
- During inserting or taking out diamond indenter, be careful that the indenter does not bump into the Anvil on the lower part does not bump into the Anvil on the lower part.
Diamond indenter is relatively sensitive to impact.
- Check if the product is not shaking prior to any test. When a test sample is heavy, please pay attention to the sample for safety.
A h d t th t t t l - Any person who conduct the test must wear gloves. If you touch Anvil with bare hand, it will get rusty easily and give small effect to hardness value.
After test
- During taking out an indenter after test, be careful that the indenter does not bump into the Anvil on the lower part.
- Replace the product cover after each test.
Weekly Maintenance
- Remove dust near and on the screw and clean the machine.
- Wipe each Anvil with oil to prevent rust - Wipe each Anvil with oil to prevent rust.
Monthly Maintenance
- Remove dust near and on the screw and apply new lubricant.
Yearly Maintenance - To ensure the normal operation of the product, please conduct periodic calibration inspection every year.

When we replace and replenish oil?
In case of DTB-500, replenish fluid in the auxiliary tank through oil filling hole.Generally, replace the fluid every 5 years.(Hydraulic fluid #68)

Can not conduct pressurization.
In case of DTB-500, it is because of air in the pump. Therefore, please disassemble the pump handle to replenish the fluid.

Can't maintain pressure after pressurization.
In case of DTB-500,cloase the hydraulic valve a little bit more tightly.If the symptom does not disappear, please replace the valve.
In case of DTB-600N,

The power won't be ON. (DTB-600N)
When fuse is melt off owing to over current or etcWhen fuse is melt off owing to over current or etc, the power won't be ON.Please replace the fuse checking the following order.
1 Sh t i OFF d h k f BOX it h t1. Shut main power OFF, and check fuse BOX on power switch part on the rear side of the machine.
2. The front side of the power switch box to find two fuses. fuse on the bottom is one that is currently used and thee is a spare fuse on the top. Replace the fuse on the bottom with new fuse on the top.

2. For safe and proper use of this product, be sure to check the characteristics of
the product and maintenance method described in the manual

3. Free warranty term of this product is 1 year after installation date.
4. In case of defect during warranty term under normal operation of the machine
according to the precautions in instruction manual and nameplate,

5. When free warranty term is over, actual expense will be invoiced for long
distance trip.
6. We provide customer service. In case of request for after sales service,
basically we provide service within 24 hours. However, in case of unavoidable
situation, we sincerely request you for your cooperation.
7. This warranty is only for domestic customers. For foreign customers,
we will make a separate contract.
8. In case of the following situations, service charge will be basically invoiced.
① Defect caused by carelessness or improper repair or renovation
