TIME REQUIREMENTS
If you do not need to retune the Detectors and no Gantry calibrations affecting Collimator Exchanges are
necessary, allow 4 - 6 hours for a semi-annual, and 6 - 8 hours for an annual Planned Maintenance Visit.
If Detector tuning is necessary, allow an additional 2 - 4 hours without Linearity, and another 1 - 2 hours if
Linearity is necessary. In a small room where you cannot tune both detectors simultaneously, detector
tuning times will double (i.e., 4 - 8 without Linearity and another 2 - 4 with Linearity).
If you recalibrate any Gantry motion that affects Collimator Exchanges, allow 0.5 hours per Collimator
Cart.

IMPORTANT: In the steps on this page and the next, if you see a
Red Plastic Plug on the circumference of the Flanged Ball Nut on
either Radius Leadscrew, you must add a Grease Fitting(s)
following the steps in the BrightView Radius Safety Plate Install
Procedure (4598 000 07211).
CAUTION: If you see an empty grease port, that is probably
because ball bearings from inside the Flanged Ball Nut have
pushed the Red Plastic Plug out. That is potentially a very serioussituation; you need to quickly order and replace the Radius
Leadscrew for any drive with a empty Grease Fitting. See the
BrightView Leadscrew Replacement Procedure (4535 608 29221).
6. To lubricate the Detector 2 Radius Leadscrew, locate the Grease
Fitting on the circumference of the Flanged Ball Nut on the
Radius 2 Leadscrew. You may need to look upward from insidethe Gantry Bore, or look down from the top while standing on a

PROCEDURE
1. With the Handcontroller or Touch Screen, move the Patient Pallet to the "Home" position (all the way retracted from the
gantry).
2. At the non-gantry end of the Table, remove the Patient Pallet by lifting the Black-
colored Latch on the "Pillow", tilting the Pillow up, sliding the Patient Pallet
completely out of the gantry and place Patient Pallet in a safe place.
3. At the gantry end of the Table, remove the two button head screws that attach the
Longitudinal Leadscrew Cover which is in the center of the Table.

4. Gently raise the Longitudinal Leadscrew Cover about 20 mm and shift it to one
side or the other by about 40 mm so you can see the Leadscrew Bracket under
the cover.
5. With a pen, mark the location of the two rear corners of the Leadscrew Bracket.
This will allow you, in a future step, to remove the Leadscrew Bracket and then
put it back without having to realign the Leadscrew.
6. From under the front of the Table, remove the two socket head screws that secure the Leadscrew Bracket to the gantry end of
the Table.
TIP: There is a Retaining Ring on the gantry end of the Leadscrew. In the next step, as you remove the Leadscrew Bracket, be
careful not to loose the Retaining Ring. The Retaining Ring (which does not hold the Bearing Block) may or may not come off
when you remove the Bearing Block. If Retaining Ring does come off, it is easy to reattach.)
CAUTION: Also in the next step, do not lift the Leadscrew any more than
necessary.
7. Lift the Leadscrew and the Longitudinal Leadscrew Cover just enough that
you can rotate the Leadscrew Bracket about 120 degrees and slip the
Leadscrew Bracket off the gantry end of the Leadscrew.
This will expose the Needle Bearing inside the Leadscrew Bracket.

9. Replace the Leadscrew Bracket on the end of the Leadscrew.
10. If it came off, replace the Retaining Ring on the gantry end of the Leadscrew.
11. Reattach the Leadscrew Bracket to the Table being careful to position the Leadscrew Bracketin the same position with respect to the two rear corners which you marked with a pen.
12. Reattach the Longitudinal Leadscrew Cover on to the Leadscrew Bracket.
13. Replace the Patient Pallet under the "Pillow" and secure the Patient Pallet with the Black-
colored Latch.
