Day 1 Saturday 22 December 2018Arrive Osaka (3 Nights)Welcome to Japan. Spend the day exploring the city on your own. This evening, join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception. WR Hotel: Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka

Day 2 Sunday 23 December 2018Osaka SightseeingToday is the Emperor’s Birthday! It is a National Holiday for everyone to celebrate the birthday of the Emperor. It is also a very popular shopping day for the lead up to Christmas. Start your day with a cruise on the ‘aqua-bus’ along Osaka’s Okawa River. Admire the city from a different perspective as you sail along the river to view the Japan Mint, City Hall, Nakanoshima. Finish with a visit to Osaka Castle. Later, enjoy a visit to the Floating Garden Observatory at the Umeda Sky Building, where you will have panoramic views of the city of Osaka, panoramic views of nearby Awaji Island and Mt. Ikoma. This afternoon travel to nearby Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan. Visit the Todaiji Temple which houses one of Japan’s largest bronze statues of Buddha at 15 metres tall and Nara Park, home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. Enjoy some free time at the Higashimuki Shopping Arcade before returning to Osaka. Tonight join for dinner at a local restaurant. BB, D

Day 3 Monday 24 December 2018Osaka at LeisureIn Japan, Christmas is known as more of a time to spread happiness rather than a religious celebration. Christmas Eve is often celebrated more than Christmas Day and is thought of as a romantic day, in which couples spend together and exchange presents. Today is yours to explore Osaka at your own pace. Have a sweet tooth? Head to the chocolate cafe ‘Chocolatier Palais’ and try some of Japan’s delicious chocolate. This evening, why not visit the German-Style Christmas Markets and enjoy a glass of delicious mulled wine. Tonight enjoy a Christmas Eve meal together at our hotel. BB, D

Day 4 Tuesday 25 December 2018Osaka – KyotoIt’s Christmas Day! After a leisurely breakfast travel from Osaka for Kyoto. Enjoy a visit to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. See the tunnel of thousands of bright orange torii gates that snake through the forest up into the mountains. Explore

Sanjusangen-do Hall, a temple famous for its 1001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy followed by a walk around the Gion area. Enjoy some free time in Gion before continuing to the Kinkakuji Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its Golden Pavilion. The Kinkakuji history dates back to 1397, when the villa was purchased by Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. When Yoshimitsu died, the building was converted into a Zen temple by his son. Day 5 Wednesday 26 December 2018Kyoto – Tokyo (3 Nights)This morning, watch the countryside fly by on the bullet train to Tokyo. On arrival, enjoy an orientation drive. See the Tokyo Skytree, the world’s highest free-standing broadcasting tower before enjoying some free time to go shopping on your own. Day 6 Thursday 27 December 2018Tokyo SightseeingYour day begins with a visit to Asakusa and explore the Sensoji Buddhist temple. It is one of Tokyo’s most colourful and popular temples and has been rebuilt countless times since it was founded in 628, making it the oldest in Tokyo. Visit Nakamise, a shopping street over 200 metres long that stretches from the outer gate to the temple’s second interior gate. Next, head to the famous Ginza district for a hands-on Sushi Sushi Making experience. Learn how to make sushi with a Local Specialist and then enjoy your sushi creations for lunch. Later choose to either return to the hotel or remain in Ginza. Tonight dine together at a local restaurant. FB, L, D

Day 7 Friday 28 December 2018Tokyo Free TimeThe whole day is free to explore on your own. Your Travel Director will be ablle to offer suggestions. You will have an included trin pass to use for the day. You may like to wake up early and head to the “Tsukiji Fish Market” where you can sample some of the best fresh seafood and enjoy souvenir shopping. Or make your way to Yoyogi Park, considered one of the largest parks in the city or visit the Harajuku district, known as the centre of Japanese youth culture and fashion. Here, find dozens of shopping and dining options. Tokyo has something for everyone! BB

Day 8 Saturday 29 December 2018Tokyo – Naeba (4 Nights)Off to Naeba we go! Naeba is one of the most famous ski and snowboard resorts in Japan with both a long history and reputation. It has been the venue for numerous international events including the 2016 Alpine Skiing World Cup. Naeba is located in the southern area of Yuzawa town in Niigata Prefecture. Booking, Deposit & Final Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $200pp is due within 7 days of booking. Full balance is due no later than 80 days before departure. For bookings made within 80 days of departure full payment is required within 48 hours.Fares: All fares are quoted in Australian Dollars. Fares include transport, entrance fees as per itinerary, plus services of a Travel Director and Driver and meals as specified.Accommodation: Hotel accommodation includes twin-bedded rooms with private facilities, all hotel service charges, baggage handling fees and local taxes. Single rooms are available on request basis and a single supplement applies.

Cancellation penalties apply:• For cancellations over 80 days prior to departure date

= Loss of deposit

• For cancellations 79 - 32 days prior to departure date = 25% of total price

• For cancellations 31 - 8 days prior to departure date = 30% of total price

• For cancellations 7 - 3 days prior to departure date = 50% of total price

• For cancellation within 3 days of departure/no show = 100% of total price.
