T.MUDAMBO
Dear Sir,
We are a group of men from the Hatcliffe community and have come up with a proposal, an initiative to tackle the growing unemployment gap amongst our youth in our community especially the males who are often seen at the street corners with nothing to do but tout to make a few pennies enough for a plate of Sadza and for indulging in drug abuse. As concerned citizens and members of this community we have drawn up a proposal on hoe we can create employment as we build our economy through productivity in the manufacturing sector.
We Hope our proposal is favorable to you and that you will buy into our vision and help us in its implementation to make it a reality in our country and community.
Yours Faithfully
Paul Chiweza

BLHIn this initiative we propose to create employment through home industry products. We have identified products which we can manufacture locally considering availability and level of Capital and Technology to our disposal. These products are low production cost high end value products. We maintain that the skill set required will be at a minimal entry level, where we can easily train unskilled workforce in a short space of time.
Our limitations come in the form of Land and Capital. Infrastructure is also key although not much land our complex machinery is required. In the beginning we would need land suitable enough to erect a shed with different compartments to cater for different home industry products. As long as the working environment is satisfactory meeting health and safety standards.
Product
We intend to manufacture peanut butter, candles, soap, shoes, belts sandals and hair products. These are the products we have identified thus far. Each product can be further expounded into different lines in the continuity of business.
Product research
Our team will use information from various trade sources to create products that compete in the Market.

BLHInformation on barcodes, preservatives, catalysts to add quality and innovation to our products.
Branding and Packaging
We need to come up with catchy brands and trademarks that will identify our products in the industry, as well as packaging alternatives to create finished products that compete with superior brands, both local, regional and international.
Marketing & Advertising & Distribution
Our Marketing and Distribution efforts will be to target and sign trade agreements with the big Chain Stores in Zimbabwe including Ok, TM, and Spar, Pick n pay, Food Lovers etc. We also hope to approach big warehousing wholesalers to distribute our product more efficiently e.g. Muhamoud Mussa, Bhadella, N. Richards etc. Advertising will be done through word of Mouth, market presence and attractive design. We can always launch a full campaign when the business has broken even.
Pricing
We intend to create a high end value product which is well priced. In accordance to production capacity our prices will be determined by output which will be initially
