The Logo for the event can be used in a variation of itself to reinforce the ideas of the exhibition. The box of the logo stays static but the actual word 'Spaces' is scattered to communicate a sense of spatial awareness. This also bring attention to the empty space which is created within the box.

The promotional posters for the event have been designed to simply communicate the event whilst directly bringing attention to the space used in the poster, with a generous amount of balanced content with black space.

Public Program

Brief 4 - Spaces Exhibiton Spaces Exhibition Program

The public Program would be given to visitors on entrance to the exhibition show, it works as more of a printed introduction to the show giving information on the event its history and purpose whilst also acting as a way for the visitors to navigate through the exhibition.

The program not only introduces the exhibition but also includes a floor-plan to help visitors navigate the show. Content also gives a brief summary of some of the showcased designers and studios featured at the exhibition and also giving information on upcoming talks and events which would be proposed throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Brief 4 - Spaces Exhibiton Online Presense & Website

The Design is consistent with other collateral the exhibition has to keep a familiarity and consistent finish to the exhibition. The copy on the site is set in two columns, but for larger imagery/content can also be pushed across the two to create One single Column. The content of the online resource would also act as an investiga-tion in to the significance of spaces in graphic design with a blog which would allows visitors and readers to comment on to create a larger community.

#2(HB) Max Ackerman + Calvin Waterman _ #2(HB) is an installation that uses defunct billboards in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. These billboards are caught in limbo. Previously serving as an advertisement platform along Interstate 195, their future is now undetermined, a result of the decade long IWAY project, the re-routing of I-195 in Providence. Our urban landscape is constantly changing, we adapt by taking a detour on the commute to work, or forcing a new trail through the grass when a sidewalk is blocked. We don’t acknowledge what these changes mean because we must disconnect from our landscape in order to move through it efficiently. A billboard off the highway becomes a weightless message floating in the sky, as we completely forget about the underlying structure of steel, lights and electricity that support it. Yann Sérandour The Ins & Outs of the White Cube _ Inspired by Sérandour work in the gallery space he has been invited to give a lecture exploring what the gallery

Each sign is set with the Spaces logo-type, Followed by a title linking to the appropriate showcase its directing to. 'A Transitional Space' .. Using wording like this throughout the signage makes for a consistent, familiar and identifiable system of direction.

A proposed way-finding/Signage system to allow visitors to navigate around the exhibition. The signage system had to be easy to follow as it serves the most functional purpose of directing visitors around the show.

Above is a proposal for a large scale promotion to be used at the Design Museum, As the Design Museum is the proposed venue for this event I have proposed a large scale promotion for the spaces exhibition on the side of the London based museum. The large scale external promotion would follow the same direction as the identity for Spaces, clear precise and effective.
