Highlights: Council Meetings

• Eight (8) meetings and worked on various issues during the year. These meetings were open to the public to encourage input from parents and other members of the school community.

• We also had six (6) Executive meetings New this, we introduced Skype. These meetings included the Committee Chairs and the Chair and Co-Chair.

Highlights: Achievements

• Additional achievements of the school council in 2014/2015 included the following:

• Council fundraised over $23,000• Continuation of Kiss’n Ride program • New successful fundraising initiatives –

Fun Fair, Chocolate Sales, Coffee Sales, and community donations,

• Created a Back to School September package

Highlights: Achievements

• Continuation of Voluntary Donation program – approximately $6000 was raised

• Retained donations from community partners

• Work with administration to set up a procedure to ensure that school funds are spent

• Work with administration to map out dates of meetings and significant school events

Highlights: Where were your $$$ spent?

This year, we raised almost $54.00 per student which went towards:

• Additional artistic enrichment: Director’s Cut program for each grade

• Additional academic enrichment: Scientist in the Classroom

• Additional equipment to assist the school’s expanding IT initiatives - $10k

• Received a $1000 grant from PRO - TDSB

• Another summary of financial activity related to the school council’s administrative activities, entitled “Sources and Uses of Operating Funds”, is also attached.

Looking forward - 2015/2016

• Improving communications with parents • Increasing attendance at the Council

meetings• Develop more fundraising initiatives to

engage the Brian PS and the community at large

• Continuation of the Universal donation program

• Continue one (1) Pizza lunch per month and find a new volunteer to run the program

Looking forward - 2015/2016

• Working with administration to develop a strategy providing additional afterschool French program along with the continuation of the French Immersion book clubs

• Develop a fundraising strategy to sell the coffee and the 5 air conditioners currently not in use
