Introduction This case study aims to present the
following objectives:
Evaluate the present location, needs, and populationdemographics of Brgy. Magliman as a whole.
Present all possible serving sites that would materialize theproposition of providing WIMAX services and would coverthe entirety of the barangay.
Present a balanced perspective between the need forWIMAX services of Brgy. Magliman and the possible benefitsthat would incur upon realization of the latter.
Provide recommendations.

Socio-Economic Status
Occupation Labor Force (15-60 y/o) comprises 60.32% of the total
population. The actual employment data provided by the
barangay census is 1, 097 or 53.69% of the labour force.Twenty seven percent (27%) of these are full timestudents. 34.54% are housewives and pensioners. Theremaining 11.18% have not identified any employmentinformation. For those employed, 26.67% are locallyemployed, 43.26% are skilled workers, 11.92% are
professionals, 6.78% are employed abroad, 10.91% areentrepreneurs and those on the agriculture makes up theremaining 0.37%.

More than fifty one percent (51.11%) of the totalpopulation is currently enrolled in basic education.Comparing this with the school-age population (5-16 y/o) of 24.12% would show a 24.99% differencewhich could account for elementary and highschool undergraduates and graduates who werenot able to enter any tertiary education ortechnical vocation course. Those who are currentlypursuing higher education makes up 13.22% and
about 16.75% were able to finish tertiaryeducation. Small proportion of 1.26% or 43individuals were not able to attend school at all.

Housing The housing condition of the barangay
comprises 43.7% of household ownedhousing units, 6.46% are renting while9.61% are classified as informal settlers.Majority of housing units or 88.6% aremade up of concrete materials. 0.6% aremade up of wooden materials, 5.71% are
mixed-type, and 1.95% or about 13 unitsare made of shanties structure.

Fixed BRO Wireless is not available within thearea especially the central part of thebarangay.
Population within the area is growing and thedemand for more services such as internetservices also do increase.
Many subdivisions are being built within thebarangay which poses probable market fordifferent network services.

exceeds the cost of putting-up another cell site,then a site roll-out that would cover thebarangay would be necessary to seize thisgrowing market.

Else, the company, in order to protect itsassets and investments from going to waste
due to rash decisions, should waitstrategically until a certain level ofdemand/need is felt.
The promotion of other services such as
SmartBRO mobile broadband plug-its andservices may also be an alternative.
