Brittany has a gentle maritime climate.

- To the east of the same line, it rains less and the average temperatures are higher.

- Around the coast temperatures remain mild and it rains less than inland.

Contrary to popular belief, the annual rainfall is not what is significant about Brittany’s weather but rather its changeability

In summer there is only a slight rise in comparison to the rest of France and the winters are extremely mild with only occasional frosts.

Bretagne France doesn’t have many statues but it is a beautiful place. With 1025 listed monuments, and 1847 registered as “historical monuments”(source DRAC Bretagne), Brittany is one of France's first regions as regards the wealth and density of its heritage.

Brittany’s capital city really gets in party mood at the beginning of each July with its Tombées de la Nuit, a spectacular street festival celebrating theatre, music, poetry and dance. Perhaps surprisingly, all things traditionally Breton share the limelight with some of France’s best modern rock music. Although maybe not so surprising when you realize that Rennes’ two universities and medical school is home to around 45,000 students.
