I want to be a champion for all the residents of Brentwood and Ongar by makingyour voices heard at Westminster.

As your MP I will campaign for a fairer society where your life chances are notblighted by the circumstances of your birth, the income of your parents or thelocation of your home. I will campaign to take power from Westminster and specialinterests and give it back to people and their communities.

Helping local families through the recessionDavid Kendall and Lib Dem Chancellor Vince Cable will help local familiesthrough the recession:

No one will pay income tax on the first £10,000 they earn - meaning fourmillion working people and pensioners on low incomes will no longerhave to pay income tax

Millions will see an income tax cut of £700. Pensioners will get up to£100 extra

These proposals will be paid for by a clampdown on tax loopholes, amansion tax on homes over £2 million and making sure airlines pay forthe pollution they cause

Treat Pensioners with dignity and respect We will immediately restore the link between pensions and earnings so

pensioners living standards finally improve

We will remove compulsory retirement ages so that people are free to workas long as they like

We will scrap the Council tax and replace it with a Local Income tax. Thiswould be a significant benefit to the majority of pensioners.

We will put another 3,000 police on the beat and pay for it by scrapping thepointless ID cards

We will make prisoners work and contribute from their prison wages to acompensation fund for victims.

public transport the Liberal Democrats will create hundredsand thousands of new jobs that will last.

We will give councils greater powers to regulate busservices according to community needs meaning that localpeople get a fair say over routes and fares.

Making the NHS workbetter for you We will protect NHS frontline services

such as cancer treatment, mentalhealth services, dementia care andmaternity services by making a majorcrack down on waste.

We will give people the power to takeover their local NHS through thecreation of elected health boards.

We'll improve the quality of care peopleget from the health service by payingfor them to go private if the NHS can'ttreat you on time.

We will reduce the number of NHStargets and guarantee high standards

of health care to each citizen
