Getting ready
• Youdon’thavetodoanythingspecialtogetready• Yourbodywillprepareitselfinpregnancy• Whenthebabyisborn,yourhormoneschangeandyouwillmakeenoughmilk• Thesechangesmightmakeyoufeelsad,tired,orweepyinthe1stfewdaysafterbabyisborn
When baby is born • Tokeepbabysafeandwarm,putbabyonmom’schest,withthebaby’sskinonyourskin,foratleast1hour,andcovermomandbabywithablanket• By1hour,thebabywillshowyoushewantstoeat• Shewillcrawltothebreastonherown,oryoucanhelpthebabytogetthebreastintohermouth
