HEALTHY PEOPLE 2020 OBJECTIVE AND TARGET POPULATION

C-17 “Increase the proportion of women who receive a breast cancer screening based on the most recent guidelines” having a mammogram every 1-2 years for women

aged 40 and older recommended by American Cancer Society (ACS) and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG)

Target Population is women aged 40 and older in Roanoke, Al

Annual diagnosis of breast cancer is 14 citizens for Randolph County

NURSING DIAGNOSES 1) Risk of stage II breast cancer, 2) Among

Women age 40 and older in Roanoke, 3) Related to inadequate access to health care facilities which offer breast cancer screening.

1) Risk of metastatic breast cancer, 2) Among Women age 40 and older in Roanoke, 3) Related to incomprehensive breast cancer screenings at the local health care facilities.

1) Risk of failure to obtain yearly mammograms, 2) Among Women age 40 and older in Roanoke, 3)Related to insufficient funds secondary to high unemployment rate.
