Right & WrongWord Manipulation, 2010
In this simple and understandable typography design, I unified the words "right" and "wrong" by illustrating the meaning of both.
Design Thinkers Conference Invitation, 2011
The envelope design of this invitation was from an existing design from the Design Thinkers conference. From this folded design, I redesigned the information. I unified the outside of the invitation with the inside using a similar grid system. Critical concerns are visual appeal and understandability.
Eagle EyePaint Swatch Painting, 2011
This painting was influenced by a paint swatch called "Eagle Eye". If one has an eagle eye, one is capable of picking out detail. I subtly altered part of the painting so that you have to really look at it to find the difference.
Hungry for ChangeHand-made Typeface, 2011
Using everyday objects and food, I created an ad for the " Canadian Feed the Children" organization. I used their slogan and added my creativity.
DeliciousColour Concept, 2011
Colour is the focus in this ice cream design. The endless flavours were interesting to express. The washed- out brown in the background really makes the image pop.
Visual CommunicationsProgram Logo, 2012
Using artistic silhouettes, I created a "VC" logo for the Visual Communications Program at Medicine Hat College. A playful logo best represents the program.
What’s Wrong?Puzzle Illustration, 2012
As a child, I enjoyed “what’s wrong with the picture?” so I found it exciting to create one. I came up with this idea while sketching on my free time. I wanted it to be a bit weird and random with subtle changes between the two. I chose mostly neutral colours because it most suited the mood I was feeling when I created this image.
Deborah ForbesFaculty Member Portrait, 2012
This illustration was based on Professor Deborah Forbes. Using watercolour and ink I displayed Deborah’s thoughts and interests flowing out of her mind.
Fukuda ShigeoConcept Poster. 2012
I incorporated some of Fukuda Shigeo design concepts to create a poster to promote an exhibition of his work.
