Whats a decomposer?

A decomposer helps recycle the garbage leftbehind by animals and nature. I sometimes call itleaf litter. I like to eat everything and then myslime helps break it down. Thats decomposing.

What did you learn today?

Banana slugs come from the snail family andare mollusks. We have one lung.

Banana slug slime leaves a mucus trail. Ithelps us slide along rocks and rough ground.The slime also helps us stay moist to survive.

Banana slug slime may be gross, but it helpsbreak down waste left from other animals orplants. The slime tastes gross so otheranimals wont eat us.

Banana slugs need moisture to survive. Lookfor us near creeks and streams, or at thebottom of trees and under leaves.

Banana slug poop has seeds in it which helpsto grow new plants and keeps the soil healthy.

And always remember hike with a partner,

stay on the trail, and help keep the environmentclean.
