Bread with tomato

Here in Catalonia we have a lot of typical dishes and one of them is bread with tomato.

The origin of bread with tomato was in farms. The farmers rubbed the tomatoes on the bread because the bread was very dry and the tomato softened it.

How to make bread with tomato?

We need:

Bread Tomatoes Some oil Some salt

How we do it

First of all we cut the tomato in two parts. Then we spread the tomato on the slice of bread. After that we put some salt and some oil. The bread is ready to eat!!!

How we can eat bread with tomato?

Usually we eat bread with tomato with sausages (botifarra, xoriço, botifarra de vic, fuet…), Serrano ham, omelette...

We also toast the bread and we rub a little bit of garlic and then we rub the tomato and we put on some oil and salt too.

Spanish omelette

It is one of the typical dishes in Spain. We also call it, potatoes omelette.

The origin of Spanish omelette is uncertain, but some people think that its origin is very old. In some war, somebody invented this omelette to fed the soldiers.

How we make Spanish omelette?

We need ( for 3 persons)

4 eggs ½ kg potatoes Olive oil Salt

How we do it

First of all we wash the potatoes and then we cut them. Then we put the potatoes with a little bit of salt, in the hot

oil. When the potatoes are fried we take out them of the frying pan and we drain the oil.

After that we beat the eggs with a little bit of salt, and then we add the potatoes with the beaten eggs.

We fry the 2 slides of the omelette and then we take out the omelette of the pan, and then we can eat it.
