The WAT Taskforce is pleased to announce that

208 of 257 teams (81%) accumulated 833 miles or

more. Total miles reported were 334,814.8 . This

report consists of the teams who selected February

9, 2019 as their start date. Miles are based on those

reported as of April 9. Keep it moving now!

What is the Random Draw Finisher Award? Every team that made it across Texas was entered into a random drawing. Twenty teams were drawn and will receive finisher gifts.

Desperately Needing Uber

Grover Voss is the Team Captain for the Rambling Weed Whackers. His team asked him to be the Team Captain and to keep them posted on their progress. Grover was up for the challenge. He gave his team that and so much more! He kept his team motivated by sending emails every few days on their progression across Texas. Emails consisted of location, a history lesson, fun facts, and an intriguing ques-tion or two like, "Should we stay for a bite to eat or move on?" He even included pictures of the area! The team was motivated to walk as many miles as they could because we couldn't wait for the next stop! They would stop in fun places, scary places (ghost towns) and historical plac-es. Once he pushed them to walk a little more, so they didn't have to stop in the middle of nowhere land. Grover’s emails were highlighted a couple of times in our Walk Across Texas newsletter. His enthusiasm, motivation, encouragement and humor made this challenge a truly enjoy-able one! Congratulations to you sir on being 2019 MVP!

Dinner Tonight Recipe-Iced Fruit Cake Bars

Servings 16

Cake Bars 3 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 cup sugar

3 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 bananas mashed 8 ounces crushed pineapple 1 cup skim milk

1 cup pecans chopped Icing 8 ounces whipped topping fat free 1 ounce vanilla pudding mix sugar free, fat free 1/2 cup skim milk

Instructions 1. Wash your hands and preparation area. 2. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F. 3. In a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients first. Then add in the mashed bananas, pineapple, and milk until

well combined. Fold in chopped pecans. 4. Pour into a lightly greased 9x13 inch pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. 5. After the cake has cooled, combine the thawed whipped topping and skim milk until

smooth. Add in pudding mix and mix until well combined. 6. Store covered and in the refrigerator. Try this an other tasty recipes at dinnertonight.tamu.edu
