Maths has been the focus of year 6 this week. We have completed lots

of simplifying, comparing and ordering fractions with different

denominators. We have looked into the Journey of a Pharaoh in the

created graffiti – Grammar, punctuation and spelling graffiti!

Year 5 This week, we are realising just how important knowing our times tales is as we work on square and

prime numbers, not to mention division and long multiplication. We have been investigating the force of

water resistance in science and showing off our scientific writing skills. We are excited about creating our own space themed website. More news about this next

week.

Wow! What a busy

‘Christmaths’ kind of

week!

Year 3 / 4

What a week! Busy as ever, we’ve been creating a biography for King Alfred

and his battle with the Vikings. We’ve designed and made pencil drawings of a dragon’s head for the front of a Long ship and have been continuing to read our class book,’ the Saga of Erik the Viking’.

We’ve also used our observation skills in

science, looking at highly magnified pictures of citrus

mites and human ears.

Polite Request

As a parent you will always be your child’s biggest influence and they will hero

worship you. That means that in school they will copy your mannerisms, your turn

of phrase and your sense of humour. When you are doing the school run, please be careful with your jokes,

language and opinions. In the same way that you would expect school staff to be

aware of their conduct around your children, please remember to keep your

conversation child friendly.
